So why hasn't Allardyce played Speroni besides the cup? Is he still carrying a knock? Does he look slow in training? Thinks he's too old? Just doesn't fancy him? Pardew was accused by people who claim to know, of not playing Jules because of ego. I have no idea whether that is true but if so why hasn't Allardyce? There wouldn't exactly have been an uproar would There?

According to former ref Graham Poll it was a foul on Hennessey, yet no Palace player appealed. Once again not got the balls to stand up for ourselves. Edited by Dangermouse (06 Feb 2017 3.50pm) This is why refs who haven't played the game shouldn't be allowed to officiate. The players didn't appeal because, like the pundits, ex-footballers and a lot of our own supporters, they knew exactly what had just happened. Going for the ball with a bit of physical contact added but nothing over the top, nothing too blatant, and all just to put Hennessey off and it worked. Within the laws of the game it was. Shambolic standing off a side like Sunderland - that comes from the manager. We should be pressing and taking the game to them, its quite embarrassing No that doesn't come from the manager that's basic stuff that is down to the gutless wonders that we're on the pitch. Bar Zah they behaved like a bunch of cowards on Saturday.

The second yellow for Larsson isn't, it's blatantly not carrying out the laws of the game and it had a major impact on the game. Again though we didn't make too much of it other than Wilf. The first foul on him was IMO meant to hurt him and still none of ours stand up for him. I bite my tongue when saying this, but we shoukd of gone for Barton.

Noone asked you to comment on Clattenberg, I just pointed out that if the challenge on Speroni was legal then the challenge on Hennessey Must have been legal too Edited by the silurian (06 Feb 2017 5.59pm)

Why Willo why? No one anywhere said it was all his fault, BUT any confidence the team had, drained out of them when he let that first soft goal in you could see the players heads drop while Hennessey just shrugged his shoulders.....

But he is seemingly the only player "In the stocks" on HOL after that abject defeat is Hennessey ! He has been the focus of attention whereas there is hardly a mention of some of the others. We were COLLECTIVELY bloody awful and an embarrassment.

Absolutely agree we were collectively awful but mainly after the 10th minute error from "super Wayne", if you were there, you would have seen the collective heads drop, and a resigned feeling of " s***, not again" after he dropped the ball

Not right to put all the blame on Hennesey but my days he has been poor. All keepers need something about their character. They need to be vocal and should organise and put demands on the defence in front of them. They need to be brave and command their area. They also need to be fit and very agile (always on their toes and ready to react). Sadly for me Hennesey has none of the above about him. The first goal on Saturday foul or no foul he should have cleaned both the ball and the Sunderland player out. Sadly no as always he half heartedly makes a token gesture at the cross in almost a cowardly manner. The second goal, yes it was well hit but he does not move his feet! He just dead dives from a standing position! Simply not quick enough or agile enough. The Coleman goal against Everton, he made himself smaller by going down early instead of trying to make himself as big as possible. This I have seen him do on many occasions over the past two seasons. Sorry but in my opinion he has not helped our cause all season.
