Speaking generally one cannot give any keeper a season IF you feel he is not performing to the required standard on a regular basis and costing one goals. Sometimes a keeper needs to be dropped for his own good to re-build his confidence.I recall both Joe Hart and Simon Mignolet being rested. At the end of the day, results count and one simply cannot persevere with any player to give him a chance to "Prove himself".

Fair enough BG , but your posts never suggested you ever gave WH a chance before he even had a run of games , let alone a season. Sorry if I am wrong but that is how you came across.

I think at one stage you even suggested that McCarthy was a better option. Speaking of whom, as Willo pointed out, if a keeper isn't good enough you can't just leave him in, as we found with McCarthy. I saw that WH made a bit of a hash for Serbia's goal on Saturday - perhaps he's a bit rusty. I think we've now got to the stage where we'll be looking at another new keeper for next season. Speroni is past it, Hennessey doesn't seem to have the support of the management or a section of the crowd, and Mandanda, despite being another big name signing, doesn't seem to have what it takes in the Prem.
