From the article...

Mr Corbyn, who was elected Labour leader in September, did not go as far as suggesting the Government should open a "dialogue" with the militants.

But he added: "I think there has to be some understanding of where their strong points are, where their weak points are, where we can challenge their ideology.

What's your point Lily? Are you highlighting how newspapers make up half truth or bs headlines?

Ha ha,does make me chuckle you resort to calling matt lolly, yet your tag line is,about when the debate is lost, they resort to slander.....erm

Tis ubelievable what some people people believe cucking, some believed that there would be 'floods' of immigrants and 'waves' of refugees that would be 'parasites' on our crops!! But people still insist on believing these far fetched fairytales written in the Daily Mail/Express...they even implied that Nigel Farage could walk on water

From your article...

Corbyn. There has to be a political process. There already is a political process being conducted through the Geneva talks. That does involve yes, negotiations that involve the Assad regime, that’s obvious. It also, I suspect, brings in some kind of proximity talks or whatever. Owen and I both voted against the bombing of Syria because what we couldn’t see was any credible use of it or value to it, because what was then going to happen was there’s a plethora of people that are opposed to Assad, including the al-Nusra Brigade who are very close to al-Qaeda. I think that we have to support a serious political process and that serious political process has got to be redoubled.

VD: Would this process involve anyone from so-called Islamic State, yes or no?

JC: No, they’re not going to be around the table, no.

What are you getting at? Please answer directly Matthew, rather than putting links up which are easily dismissed due to the half truths they contain.

It's worth reading the comments in the Express article.

In some ways Hoof, I dont disagree with either yourself or Stirling wrt church attendance. i have seen the figures that these are in decline strangely moreso in the church or England. I can only speak for myself to say that the in the church I go to on Sunday it is sometimes difficult to get a seat, full of kids, families, older people and some WUM's apparently! (haha!). Wednesday's and fridays are full of older people but younger people are generally at work, school or dont have the time. And you dont have to be the greatest believer (which includes me) to contribute to the community side of the church, helping kids, charities, old people, refugees etc.
My point was that people seem to forget that Christmas was about the housing of a displaced (refugee) family and the birth of Jesus, not just about naff cards, xmas trees, presents, 2 bank holidays, xmas parties and downing a bottle of Harvey Bristol cream which I would say about 75% of the UK population is happy to partake in.....
I also dont think that if you go to church you are automatically a good person, I know some at my own church who are very 'out for themselves', sanctimonious selfish people.' I could provide many examples.
I also believe there are a many good people, probably like yourself Hoof who may not be a churchgoer but is charitable (e.g. your greyhound work) and are probably quietly upset at the plight of refugees and are busy dusting down their spare room and manger to take in a poor refugee boy/man....or am I wrong!

Hahaha.... you've been at the Harveys Bristol Cream yourself!

There's only room at my stables for more greyhounds I'm afraid.

Take care mate.

No it's not! There was a census called and all Jews had to return to the place of their birth to register, which is what Mary and Joseph were doing when Jesus was born and why there was no room at the inn - 'cos everyone and his family was in transit at that time. Refugees they definitely were not (well, not until later after the birth that is, which is a whole different kettle of fish to your statement).

“People think of faith as being something that you don't really believe, a device in helping you believe simply it. Of course that is quite wrong. As Pascal says, faith is a gift of God. It is different from the proof of it. It is the kind of faith God himself places in the heart, of which the proof is often the instrument...
He says of it, too, that it is the heart which is aware of God, and not reason. That is what faith is: God perceived by the heart, not be reason.”
― Malcolm Muggeridge, The End of Christendom

I post this as a "don't know".

MM also said:
"It has been said that when human beings stop believing in God they believe in nothing. The truth is much worse: they believe in anything."

Very true I think.

If that is the case then he should not be debating.
