Probably been mentioned several times already but wasn't he demanding big wages to re-sign? Everton offering him something like 90k a week. Maybe that's a factor. Personally I think we have to sell him. A dip in form and his value would halve. And it's a position where we have relative strength in depth. I love Yala, but head says sell.

Player wants to go. An agent has been pulling his strings and thats it! This is why loyal players like Jules are regarded as Legends.

I've loved watching Yala over the years but as a few have already said on here this deal seems to be a no brainer. Yes, he has sublime moments where he has everyone guessing what's going to come next but I believe that to be as much of what makes him brilliant as his downfall. I don't think he knows what he's going to do most of the time and as a result has large periods of games where he contributes very little. I'm not saying he should always do the same thing but perhaps that there are elements of his game that need to be considerably more reliable than they are; over and above all of the flare he possesses. His last three contributions to games that I have seen (cup final, Valencia, yesterday) have left me more frustrated than "wowed" and I can see what AP is referring to when he says that YB's heart and soul is not here anymore. As for what we do instead, Wilf, Townsend, Kaikai is a good start... Maybe someone bought in but I would suggest that person be a CAM played centrally rather than a straight winger for winger replacement. I hope things get sorted sooner rather than later but I'm not sure I believe they will... Been here before!!

It's clearly to do with who is in charge of handling them and whoever it is is not good when it comes to handling agents this is why people tend to pick good quality directors of football who have networks with agents and other people in the sport plus they know how the system works. Bolasie has gone now anyway so that is another player out and all this talk about it was for money is complete nonsense. Edited by grumpymort (14 Aug 2016 2.47pm)

So, with the medical for Everton apparently lined up, it looks like"so long Yannick and thanks for the memories" He has been one of the most exciting players I have ever seen play for Palace. Over the last four seasons at times he has been literally unplayable. He has been frustrating at times for sure, very often frustrating and sensational in the same game. He has made a significant contribution in those four seasons to getting us into and consolidating in the Premier League, with Palace seeming to make around a hundred fold profit on his transfer fee. However, I do hope Palace will insist on finalising the deal when it suits us. We have signed a fine replacement in Andros Townsend, but, and it's a very big but, we are potentially vulnerable on the striker front. Recently, Yannick has been playing as much as a supplementary striker as a specialist winger. While that has been a qualified success, if Conor Wickham were to be injured before we sign the much anticipated new strikers, Keshi Anderson and Freddy Ladapo would be our only fit strikers. To mitigate that risk, I hope Palace will only finalise Yannick's transfer when at least one new match ready striker has been signed.

He's gone. Great business. Paid, what? £350,000 for him? Even after paying Bristol City's sell on fee we still clear well over £20m (with maybe a further £5m to come)

Personally I don't rate him anywhere near what others do, certainly not the 30 mil Everton are purportedly willing to pay! He loses possession so easily always trying to conger up party piece highlights which are never on. his return 6 goals in 90 appearances (3 in one match) was not good enough IMHO. His unwillingness to get back and help out in defense is another factor of my criticism of him. However a nice piece of business by us considering what he cost us and good luck to him in the future.

He's gone and we will have to put up with it. Now we really need to strengthen - we now need a game-changing type player with the impact of Bolasie. Not really seeing us linked with anyone particularly powerful in this department. Hopefully, the club will surprise us.

I have to agree with this post. I love Yala, my kids love Yala but just like the family dog, every now and then he lets you down and you've gotta wonder whether it's time to let him go. I think Yala can be unplayable at times but goes missing just as often. We tolerate his poor form because we love when he plays his tricks. But I don't think his new owner will probably be as tolerant of his erratic form. I hope he does perform well at Everton as he's a good boy, but it will be a shame if he doesn't live up to his pedigree. A shame for Everton, but a smart decision by the previous owner who let him go against the wishes of the family.
