Do you right-wingers understand what Maggie signed you up to with Maastricht? You don't seem to or if you do you don't seem able to be honest about it with yourselves and are in a heap load of denial.
There's no denial, she said it was a mistake. She voted for better trade, not for losing sovereignty. She thought that argument could be won......Labour coming to power rather screwed that up. She would have never have signed away what Blair and Brown did.

Edited by Kermit8 (27 Jul 2015 10.08pm) Do you left wingers understand that your patron saint Lord Stansgate (Tony Benn) opposed membership of the European Community and shared a platform with Enoch Powell. Do be honest about it and explain.

Simple solution: EU wide asylum policy. Regardless of where you enter the EU, you go into a pot and are allocated to whichever country is next in line (so if you apply in England or in Germany, your application is processed in the same way and if successful you are allocated to individual countries of the EU based on rules). Nope, ye caused the problem, ye can take them. It's not fair on other countries.
Sadly, we have to pay all that money back. However, the countries that didn't cause it should not have to pay for it. If you let one in, it's an incentive for others, as we know the people in Calais are not Syrians, they are economic migrants. Edited by corkery (27 Jul 2015 10.46pm)

What point are you trying to make? My point was the right seem to blame the left for the EU influence they dislike but it was their own side that signed them up to it. Something they are palpably unable to accept.

It happened, it went wrong for us....Thatcher regretted it. I reckon you're just on a wind up.

Surely they will throw you out of the Devon Liberation organisation for saying that?Mind you, I guess it is balanced out by calling that silly old fool, Lord Stansgate one too.

Edited by Kermit8 (27 Jul 2015 10.08pm) Yes us right wingers no what Maggie began and Major finished thank you. She made a mistake, nobody is perfect. Do you know what that imbecile Blair did by enshrining the human rights act into British law? Because of this these waifs and strays camped in Calais have a 'human right' to claim asylum here. In fact I remember Blair saying it was his proudest day enshrining the criminal rights act into British law. Are you in denial over that?

They're the entry points after all, not France or the UK.

The solution should be just to turn the boats back. You seriously think they are going to go back unless you actually took them back? That's a logistical nightmare right there.....You'd have to be armed and so on.....That would be highly risky.....It's not going to happened. Edited by Stirlingsays (28 Jul 2015 6.06pm)
