£5-6m for a player who has not proved his is up to the Premier League is way over the top, Rudy Gestede's market value is £1.5m if Blackburn can get double that their lucky they should take the money and run. Scoring 32 goals in 101 Championship matches does not make you a top Premier striker, for example Murrays 31 goals in 48 league and cup games season 12-13 didn't propel him to the £5-6m value in fact not even half that, but his achievement far outways what Rudy Gestede has done at Blackburn, plus he's not even the top scorer in the Championship, Cameron Jerome(remember him) has more goals than him, and last season he could not hit a cows butt with a banjo.
I wonder what the Dutch translation for that phrase is? Een koeien kont raken niet met een banjo Close but actually in true Dutch that will be said and written as "vorig seizoen kon hij een koeien kont niet eens raken met een banjo" but 10 out of 10 for being able to use Google Translate.
Because I am Dutch.

6 Million is not a lot when compared to the average cost of strikers in the prem. Now the next question is can he hack it in the prem, I would have to put my faith in Pards on this one as he clearly knows more about football than anyone on here. So we are back to the question of value, and pards believes he will score goals in the Prem, then 6 Million is to behonest in the grand scheme of things f*** all. Didn't we pay 7 for MaCarthur ? Pards clearly favours one big one small up front, hence Sanogo, he may be off match fitness just yet, Gestede will be ready to go, and to be honest the gap between the leagues in terms of quality is getting ever smaller, just look at the amount of close games in the cups this season, and even in the prem, we beat the bin dippers 3-1 with Warnock FFS. If he is as good as he looks in the air, then from corners with Jedi, Gestede, and Dann that is one hell of weapon with Wilf and Bolaise banging in the crosses. As for Murray yes sure great finisher, and a very clever player, but I'm not sure he can compete on a physical level with the pace of premiership defenders. I would love him to start banging them in, but I just don't see it.

Near unbeatable in the air. Will be perfect for Pulis. If Blackburn are playing hardball, we should look elsewhere. No way is Gestede worth 6 million.

It seems Venky's thinks it can play a game of chicken with Pardew and Palace. I know one thing, neither Super Al nor CPFC 2010 got where they are by being faint hearted. On the other hand, Venkys doesn't have the greatest reputation, given all the shenanigans that have happened at Ewood.

Not being disrespectful but I certainly wouldn't call Parish an expert in the transfer market. Maybe not in comparison to some other clubs executives, but streets ahead of anyone on here.

Crystal Palace struggling in striker deal after baulking at £6million price tag: If this is true then it's just getting silly now; I'd be inclined to tell Blackburn to stuff it. Surely that all depends on what Pardew see's in the player and how he values his talent. It's also worth noting that MU paid us £10 to £15 mil (depending on who you believe) for Zaha in similar circumstances. As always with our fans, when we're buyers it's always too much, but when we're sellers it's never enough. The truth is, true market value is determined by what a potential buying club will pay that matters.

Thing is if he is one of Al's targets and the board fail to bring him in at 6 Million, then I'm afraid that says an awful lot. I think it worth remembering that Leicester have just shelled out 9.7 Million Euro's on a very decent striker who was courting interestfrom Juve and Chelsea. Meanwhile we are haggling over 6 million for a championship player. That to me speaks Volumes as to where we are in terms of competiting with other clubs in the bottom half of the table.
