Now Sami Mokhel of the Mail suggests Pulis wants to be rid of Gayle--cheap journalism.Had Neil Ashton, a true palace fan and their senior football correspondent penned the same article ,it would have had some substance I hope not. Gayle is definitely worth keeping on for another season to show his credentials but I bet there will be a few clubs sniffing around looking for a bargain!!!!
I can imagine he just didn't use him much because we weren't in a position to experiment.

Or even a Chamakh and Gayle partnership should Chamakh stay for another season. We would have options and be able to rotate a little more but if Gayle can bang in the goals like he has shown in glimpses this season then I think that will be a massive help next season for us to push on

Burnley sniffing around according to paper rumours. Hopefully, they will be firmly rebuffed.

The rumours are already coming out the woodwork, burnley are supposed to want him. Well, if Parrish has got any sense he should put an £8 million price tag on Gayle. Hang on he scored 2 on Monday night make that £12 million.

Currently Burnley have 3 main strikers in Vokes, Ings and Barnes. One would think that they will start with Vokes and Ings who have scored 46 goals between them this season but Gayle could be an excellent foil for Vokes or even Barnes should Ings not be selected or available for whatever reason.

I'm so happy for DG, think what this to master strikes will do for his confidence and motivation during preseason. Him with Murray or Chamach will prove golden in our next campaign.

The Prem being the unforgiving place that it is - and if we want to stay in it for a long time - then the striker level we have to hope Dwight gets to is... Benteke That level. It's not just that they can score goals it's also the fact they are effective when they haven't got the ball too. A nuisance and technically very good. Ain't gonna be easy but if anyone can do it TP and his coaches can. Then it'll be down to the player himself. Gotta say his attitude seems 100% which can only help. No throwing toys out of prams. No spouting off being on the subs bench so often. I really hope he does it long-term. Personally, I don't think he will unless he shows rapid all-round progress next season - apart from the finishing. We know he can do that - coupled with match-to-match consistency when he is given a run in the side. Best of luck Dwight. Edited by Kermit8 (08 May 2014 12.20pm)

When you consider; Roberto Soldaldo £26mil 6 goals, (4 of which pens) Andreas Cornelius £8 mil 0 goals Rocky van wolfswinkel £8.5 mil 1 goal Jozy altidore £6.5 mil 1 goal Was gayle (4.5 or 6mil) with 5 goals really a bad signing? And think of what could have been if the relegation battle was closer. winner at villa, brace against scousers, secured sunderland home 3 points by winning and scoring pen. Also scored against west brom away in fa cup. Edited by jojobarnet (07 May 2014 1.34am) Edited by jojobarnet (07 May 2014 1.34am) Especially when you consider that Dwight Gayle hasn't played many full games, its quite impressive. I think he'll feature a lot more next season.
