My view is this... What right has anybody got to tell me I'm a tosser or whatever for not going to an away game... That I'm not a true supporter cos I don't go to Millwall?? Rubbish. It's those who say such things who need to get a life!! I have a season ticket, I paid £200 odd for and I've been to 2 games this season.... That mean I'm not a real supporter?? Or does it mean that real life means, due to work and finances that I can't get from Dorset to London for every home game?? Behave and grow up.... I love Palace as much as anyone, I feel bad when we lose, feel high when we win... I tattooed myself with the club badge... So don't tell me I'm not a true supporter... Kiss my arse!! I don't fancy going to a ground with an obviously flawed security arrangement... I refer to the riots against Birmingham... I love Palace but I'm not gonna go just to get a kicking?? Real life means more to me than Palace. So if you can't say something constructive then shut up.... How dare you speak about all those who love the club like that. We are all in it together. Anyway, I'm ready for next season Andy

"Well said. Were in it TOGETHER" well put! and very admirable with the support them anyway you can. like i said, if we were challenging for the play offs, i'd be there, but i don't see the point at the moment, i can't see the team raising their game like they should for a derby anyway.

If you dont wear colours and make a swift entrance upon arrival, then its all good. Millwall brought 4000 this year, 5000 last - why? Because they care for their team and are willing to sing their hearts out for the team they love, even if it means running the risk of losing. Their average attendance this year has been about 9000, so half of their season ticket holders/members turned up earlier this season - we have 11000 (or is it 8000 simon?!) season ticket holders, and we cant take 10% of that to the millwall match - thats p1ss poor. My last point about this shameful subject is that looking back over the season, our away support has always been good - better than last year at least. At Ipswich, on a sunday, albeit after a couple of good wins, we took what i estimate to be about 2800/3000, and made them look silly. Despite losing the lead, our players fought back, showing the resilience we so often crave at palace. Then Butterfield pops up and nicks it with 10 minutes to go - the 3000 that travelled what is a lot further than 6 miles got a good win against a quality side. the satisfaction of an away win is hard to match - but just imagine it against Millwall. Course, most of you will, and will then think 'Oh well, i will next year'. I can bet loads of you were there when we beat em 4-1 on boxing day - what an event eh?i can also bet that most of the people going were there that day. I know the kicking recieved outside wasnt too pleasent but the dens a different place now. Can i go to millwall? nah, im cutting the grass but i will next year.

Anyway... It's only Millwall!! ha ha I reckon that it's just a few boys who need a couple of thousand Palace fans behind them so they can slate the Millwall fans and feel hard!! It's all about image and I ain't into that... There is too much nowadays put into everything but the football... Money, business, image... It's all pants. Years ago during the Wright and bright era, I used to go down the Mitcham training ground and hangout with the team... That meant more to me than anything... Not how I looked infront of a few thousand divvy Millwall fans or supposedly hard boys just looking for trouble... I wanna see the days of hassle and trouble firmly behind us... Don't get me wrong I love sitting in Block B and singing and slating the other fans... But I'd rather go have a beer and a laugh with them after the game than an evening in casualty. Alex, if you have been to every home/away game (which you will no doubt claim), why is this one different?
speechless, havent recovered from my fantastic unbelievable amazing trip to anfield to see my beloved palace take on the scousers and win 2-0. i have never been so proud to be an eagle, im just amazed. my only palace |
