For a start Slugs, you are a smug preening prick who's crying out for a good old fashioned smack in the gob! Quick, report me to teacher! And don't be stupid enough to believe you'll get rid of me with your constant digging either, the only way I go is when I get banned. Quick, tell teacher! My anger at you and your pathetic band of Wolfie Smith PC banner-wavers is due to the fact that you ARE anti-British. When I once walked among an endless sea of white crosses in a pristine Normandy cemetery, searching for a long-dead relative I'd never known, I'm not ashamed to say that overcome with emotion; I broke down and cried for the thousand upon thousand of mostly young men buried there, young men that never returned home, even in death. I was overwhelmed with a feeling of great sorrow at such a senseless loss of life, immense gratitude and pride at their incredible selfless bravery in the face of terrible blinding gut-wrenching terror and the unbroken tangible peace of that place in the knowledge that it once was shattered by the terrible pounding guns and screaming men only serves to remind you that these men gave the greatest sacrifice with faith and without question in the belief that they fought the war that would end all wars on the side of right and good. They fought for the things they held dearest to their hearts and their dignified pride hangs silently in the gentle breeze, humbling you to a whisper. They fought for king and country, for national pride and the Union Jack, things that are today seen as folly by the growing multitude of pot-toking banner-waving horde. Squatting down by the grave of a young private from Nottingham, my thoughts turned to people like yourself, people that frown on national pride and patriotism, people that have no comprehension of honour and brotherhood, people who dismissively turn their noses up at these fallen heroes because yes, they did stick their heads into the fire unquestioningly when their country required it, and I felt pure white-hot anger. That's why I hate you. What makes me laugh though is the fact that none of you'd have the balls to repeat any of your smug little insults to my face, and in my book that makes you gutless cowards. I've only ever thrown insults when an arrogant smug attitude has been directed at me by you and your comrades, check back, you'll see that it's you lot that can't be disagreed with. It’s you lot that condescendingly brand anyone who doesn’t tow the PC line an unthinking spoon-fed Sun-reading moron. I've had many peaceful debates on here and many have disagreed with me and that's fine, that's what a debate is all about, but you and your blinkered rabble's recent display sickened me. You arrogantly consider yourselves to be the great intellectual thinkers on HOL, but you've never had the courage to question the lines YOU’VE been spoon-fed by your liberal mummies and daddies, your Communist college lecturers and Tony Benn clones! YOU spout your anti-British venom without even realising or caring that the majority of people around you are uncomfortable to say the least with your views. And that’s why I hate you. Right, Mathew my smug little irritant, history lesson #1. Fact. When the term 'Cockney' first appeared, London was far from the built up drug-infested s***-hole it is now! Back then, when the famous long-gone bells of Bow tolled over a flat-landscaped London, they didn't have tower blocks, 747's and the ring-road to mute their calling, they were heard for up to ten miles around, further on a clear day. and originally, it was understood that anyone born within earshot of those bells was a ‘cockney’, so the term was used to describe the good people of London, whatever class they were, whatever part of London they lived in, it described LONDONERS, not just those from the east end of London. So Mathew, you can call yourself what you want, I can think of a few corkers, but I'm a cockney born and bred and f***ing proud of it pal!

All Football fans are scum and should be treated as such Thank You, Goodnight, Much Love x |

For a start Slugs, you are a smug preening prick who's crying out for a good old fashioned smack in the gob! Quick, report me to teacher! Good to see you backing yourself up with reasoned and intelligent discourse, as ever Pete. A fine example of the English solution to all problems, so you are. And "report me to teacher"?? What ARE you on about now?? Strange boy. Quote When I once walked among an endless sea of white crosses in a pristine Normandy cemetery, searching for a long-dead relative I'd never known, I'm not ashamed to say that overcome with emotion; I broke down and cried for the thousand upon thousand of mostly young men buried there, young men that never returned home, even in death. Lovely little essay, give yourself an A star. And when you notice the obvious lessons to be learned from that conflict, you'll let me know why you think doing it all again in Iraq is a good idea, won't you... Hmmm. Quote [snip]blah blah[snip]...and I felt pure white-hot anger.
That's why I hate you. Maybe you need to take a chill pill amigo, or you'll do yourself an injury. Quote What makes me laugh though is the fact that none of you'd have the balls to repeat any of your smug little insults to my face, and in my book that makes you gutless cowards.
Or, alternatively, people who aren't in Great Yarmouth today. Quote I've only ever thrown insults when an arrogant smug attitude has been directed at me by you and your comrades, check back
I have, and I find that the first time you did it, in the end you backed down and apologised because you had made assumptions about me that were false, and put words in my mouth that I hadn't said. Easy mistake to make, and I bear no grudge for it. Your short-term memory is worse than mine though, are you on the weed too? Quote You arrogantly consider yourselves to be the great intellectual thinkers on HOL
This is the comment that's usually followed by a little history lesson, to show us all what a great intellectual you are. Quote Right, Mathew my smug little irritant, history lesson #1. Fact. There it is, right on cue. Pete -- just one small comment mate. You and I disagree on a lot of things, but probably not as many as you might think. But please don't let it eat you up like it obviously does, it can't be good for you having all this anger and resentment building up inside. Life's too short. Just accept the differences between people and move on, OK? Cheers.

PS Peter my old chum --I'm so glad that you've felt able to tell me about your moving experiences in the graveyards of France. When you feel able to accept the possibility that I, too, may have been there -- and Belsen, and Auschwitz, and the graves of so many people slaughtered by our can't-do-wrong British Army, you let me know OK? Again... cheers.

There is nothing wrong with standing up and proclaiming one's pride in being British. I nail my colours 100% to Pete's mast here and congratulate him for having the honesty to openly state what the overwhelming and, sadly, silent majority of people in this country think.
