what a very responsible piece of prose - not! it is a fact pikey that we do stop these skilled people working for 3 years when they could be helping our ailing economy - crazy!

quote the mirror:
most of those who want to make the uk their home are fleeing persecution or eager to play a positive part in british life. the situation is inflamed and made dangerous by newspapers which deliberately use vile, racist language about decent immigrants..... what a way to describe people who have been beaten, totured or raped in their home lands. such language is not new though. something similar was used by certain newspapers in the 1930's to attack the jews fleeing hitler.

i couldn't agree more.

lol the mirror talking s*** as always

everyone knows the Mail is a pile of w***, accompanied by its sister papers The Evening Sub-Standard and Metro (which i only read cos its free ).

Lets be honest, every newspaper, tabloid or broadsheet, has an underlying issue that its trying to *appear* on the side of but the fact is, its all propaganda. No newspaper is right, but most of them are wrong, bending the facts to make their case....

For goodness' sake, are we EVER going to get off this subject?

No wonder so many of them are afraid, no wonder so many of them are attacked in the street... all we seem capable of is demonising them at every turn.

There is something seriously wrong with some people's priorities if you ask me.

Bloody well said. I'm so sick of this what-paper-do-you-read snobbery! I don't read any papers for reasons Saxon just pointed out, I get my news from The News on the telly and if want to read about a breaking story, I get it off the net. I'm sick of people banging on about newspapers and their propaganda! That's all I'm gonna say on this subject coz we've done it to death already and I aint gonna get involved, you all know where I stand anyway!

nah i didnt explain myself properly. what i mean by the mirror talking s*** is the fact they never seem to have their own opinion. they change it every 5 minutes, and are the biggest example of 'give the people what they want' i.e they will do whatever they can to copy other peoples sentiments and manipulate their own views in accordance to public opinion... so one week they'll say something, and the next they will totally contradict it. (the slip to send off to stop asylum seekers coming through, and now this, i mean....

the sun, although they also talk a lot of crap and also thrive off other peoples misery so they can sell papers, stick to their views and try to voice the views of the working class male... unfair or not, it seems to be their guideline, and they more or less stick to it.

the simple fact that the corner shops order in 50% less of the mirror and STILL struggle to sell them all is something which makes me think this... they can't make up their minds what they believe, and who wants to read a paper that one week tells you that asylum seekers are a growing virus or the country and the next critises papers (including themselves!!!) for being so vile towards them!!

methinks the mirror has a split personality...

i think thats the point HMHS. the more the government turn a blind eye to the situation, the more people become concerned, and in extremes listen to the views of far righters...

on the bbc website, the BNP have won their fifth seat... this is another reason why the government need to act, because more and more will listen to the BNP group, and thats the LAST set of people we want trying to handle the situation!!

I suppose you're on the right lines but are you now telling me that BBC/ITV/Channel 87/Sky/Whatever aren't politically swayed either?

We all know the shortcomings of left wing Sky guru Murdoch (who changes sides more often than he changes his under-garments depending on what government he is trying to make part with their cash) but equally, our network TV channels report vastly differing stories. Try watching a news bulletin on ITV then one on BBC... its shocking how the same story can be so different.

Unfortunately, the only way of getting the truth is seeing the news happen, and i for one don't want to be murdered/stabbed/sent to Iraq/sign for a chinese second division team/etc just so i can find out the truth. I'd rather be naive and live in my own pleasant little world with my large quantities of booze and drugs

On that subject....

Good morning and welcome to a brand new edition of Asylum. Todays programme features another chance to take part in our exciting competition....

Hi-jack an airliner and win a council house!! We've already given away hundreds of millions off of our sponsor, The British Taxpayer, and don't forget, we're now the fastest growing game on the planet.

Anyone can play, provided they don't hold a valid British Passport. You only need to know one word of English "ASYLUM". Prizes include all expenses paid accommodation, cash benefits starting at £180 a week and a chance to earn thousands more begging, mugging and accosting drivers at traffic lights.

This competition is open to everyone buying a ticket or stowing away on one of our partner airlines, ferry companies or eurostar.

No application ever refused!! All you have to do is destroy all your papers and remember the magic
password: ASYLUM.

Only a few weeks ago 140 members of the Taliban family from Afghanistan were flown goat class from Kabul to our international gateway at Stanstead where local law enforcement officers were on hand to fastrack them to their luxury £200 a night rooms in the fabulous four star Hilton Hotel.

They join tens of thousands of other lucky winners already staying in hostels all over Britain. Our most popular destinations include the White Cliffs of Dover, the world famous Toddington Services area in historic Bedfordshire and the money tree at Croydon.

If you still don't understand the rules, don't forget there's no need to phone a friend or ask the audience. Just apply for legal aid!!
hundreds of lawyers, social workers and counsellors are waiting to help, it won't cost you a penny.

So play today. It could change your life forever.
Iraqi terrorists, Afghan dissidents, Albanian gangsters, pro-Pinochet activists, anti-pinochet activists, Kosovan drug smugglers, Tamil tigers, bogus Bosnians, COME ON DOWN!!

Be one of the tens of thousands of lucky winners in the softest game on earth. Roll up, roll up my friends for the game that never ends.

Everyone's a winner when they play ASYLUM.

I think Keith Murray said it best when he rapped
