The Q.P.R Q/final In 1982 was superb, again apart from the result,we seemed to pack 1000's Into their place for that one.

GT My mate got nicked that day for launching a coppers helmet into outer-space with a well-aimed conversion, the coppers head weren't in it though, the bonce-tit had fallen off as the Palace horde surged along the road after some cheeky QPR scallys that had fronted us up and then legged it... and I bet no one can guess what he got charged and convicted with?

I even remember the under-pass you're talking about, because we thought 'sod that' and walked across a big metal walk way over the carridgeway Instead, and ended up getting chased across! Hehe, yeah I seem to recall seeing that, there was a LOT of Palace there that day, but those Luton gits led us a right merry dance all the way back to the train station!

I think the finest noise ever heard from the Palace faithful was at Anfield when we lost 9-0. I have rarely heard such passion and feeling towards our club. Fantastic stuff. It was pretty close to it in the Worthy cup 5-0 aswell. 90 mins of non stop singing! funniest thing seen on the road, was the Cup Semi. The Liverpool end at Villa park, just a few minutes to go, the scousers singing walk on, all their scarves held up high. What a sight. You can't mistake it anywhere. Then Palace had the F'king cheek to score! You have never seen thousands of scarves dissapear so quickly!!!! I still giggle about that now!!

Brilliant miserable scousers!
Just shows how we as fans can remember so many big and small things over the years yet forget the important things in life like Birthdays/Anniversary's/Umbrellas when it rains. GT Edited by Geoff Thomas (16 Nov 2002 12:40am)

My first away game was the coca cola cup game against southampton at the Dell. 2-0 to us, Salad and McGoldrick scored as I recall, and at the end the home fans ripped their seats out and threw them at Ian Branfoot! We filled out the away end pretty much, not bad as it was standing in those days. I think Ninja was playing aswell, got the program somewhere. We were trying to find the ground and there was 6 of us in the motor, we pull up to ask some bloke for directions and he legged it! The only downer on the day was the rozzer who sent us 3/4 of the way round the ground when we asked him how where the away fans went in... oh well, hope he was a southampton fan

I'll always remember the Forest game in the ZDS. It was a mickey mouse cup but we had a chance of playing at Wembley. When we equalised with a few minutes to go, we got our first taste of the amazing emotions that would follow. I know this is supposed to be the best following. But the worst - definitely Hartlepool in the FA Cup. What on earth was I doing there...and we lost.

The one that immediately springs to mind for me was Norwich away April 99. We had gone into administration the day before and fielded a team of mostly kids making there debut. We won 1-0, Deano scoring in the first 15 minutes and hanging on for the rest. A real bond happened that day between players and fans and the atmosphere in the Palace end was just unbelievable. I think the 3-4,000 of us just thought that this was going to be our last ever game and it's a memory that will stay with me forever. I remember going to the Clarence Harbour pub outside the away end of the ground afterwards and meeting 20 or so other Palace fans. Sky were showing a re run of our Cup Final against Utd and we were just going mental to it. Fantastic stuff.
