The team should be picked and then one of them should be made captain. Making the captaincy some kind of honorary appointment is ludicrous and the position of club captain is ridiculous. This is a professional football club not a Home Counties golf club!

That's fine for match days, but not every captain on the pitch makes a decent leader off it.

Whilst Andersen's on-pitch leadership looked good in the final part of last season, I've no idea his off-pitch leadership is viewed by his team mates.

"Uncle Mark" as the other players call Guehi would seem to be an influential leader off the pitch, but may not be the most effective 'on-pitch' leader.
