Serious point can you please clarify the previous 2? I assume one is the King James 1, which is the other? I know so little about Irish history l suspect that goes for many Brits. Plantation of Munster ( failed through violent uprisings) , Plantation of Ulster ( stronger military presence and hence the rest is history). Ireland is maybe the only modern European country to suffer colonisation & occupation, hence a very different culture today to all the old colonial powers ( france, spain, Belgium, Portugal etc ). The white-guilt is absent. The Famine is remembered in Ireland, much like the Shoah is remembered in Israel. Attempts to plant 500 military age men into Coolock will be seen as history repeating itself. The irish seem to be using history books as an instruction manual for protest. Hence the builders & investors facilitating things have already had pickets at their homes. Even caterers, delivering food to asylum centres, have had their kitchens visited by angry fellas with cameras. Doesn't the UN describe population replacement as a war-crime ? For much of history , Ireland has been the Balkans of the North. A powder keg of political intrigues and plots. Formerly the Catholic back door into British Empire.....seems to have become the domino that could topple the whole EU. Putin is fighting an Economic & demographic war on the West. Certainly it's his deliberate policy to flood the place with undocumented men. Which country bursts first ? Your guess is as good as mine. Greece ? Sicily ? The flow will certainly continue until a pipe bursts.

When you learn more about what the Irish political and NGO class did in terms of getting migrants over it's breath taking. Someone interviewed today claimed Ireland has 33,000 NGO's employing 200,000 people. Small rural Irish communities literally having 100's of culturally mis matched young single men dumped on them when resources and infrastructure already woefully inadequate
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

It's why Portugal is our oldest ally. Edited by Badger11 (22 Jul 2024 12.26pm)

Charles Haughey etc. There seems to be a permanent political class in the Republic that is toxic to the core, corrupt and unsackable. Bankrupting the country again and again. Selling our soul to Wall Street and the EU. Now, you may say that about loads of places, including the UK. But i will confess to being baffled at how mental the politics are on the whole island of Ireland. I had written above that Ireland is the only country to suffer occupation and colonisation. Of course, Hitler tried it in the East...but he failed. So ireland is a bit like what Poland/Ukraine/Russia would be like had Hitler successfully colonised them - with an ethnic flavour to much division, memories of genocides, and all the other baggage. To answer the OP, we now have the fifth attempted Arson at the Coolock refugee site. Edited by PalazioVecchio (22 Jul 2024 6.50pm)

The suburb of Coolock is on fire again, this evening. is that the fourth or the fifth arson attack ? Terrorists or Government agent-provocateurs ? Will it be ignored,or bring a halt to asylum-seekers, or bring in an 'Enabling Act' Reichstag Parliament style ? asylum centre or the Amazon warehouse ? Edited by PalazioVecchio (01 Aug 2024 8.18pm)

Irish Catholic & British Protestant in Belfast. Standing together, waving their respective flags in harmony. and all the Elites are having a knicker-fit about it. The irish PM is furious. Like a bully who gets cross when all the little rabbits turn on him. Sinn Fein Lefty Traitors had never reckoned on Paddy being less of a sheep and more of an innovator. The Tories have longstanding abandoned and dissed Unionists. All this talk of a 'United Ireland' in the face of huge numbers, on the whole Island, who are not interested in that. East Belfast can no more be given back to the Irish than Manhatten given back to the American Indians paddling their canoes. All the irish ever wanted from Ulster Unionists was a peaceful co-existence and a mutual respect. If the politicians refuse to deliver that, the people are trying to get it themselves. Very many Southern Irish have little interest or opinion on what flag flies over Belfast City Hall. And they are certainly not willing to kill or die over it. A huge part of Sectarian problems is driven by fear. Who do these lads now fear the most ? each other ? or child stabbers in Dublin, Southport and everywhere in between ?

Edited by PalazioVecchio (06 Aug 2024 12.03pm) Most Irish people will never want to have anything to do with the UVF Scottish immigrants. These are the people that burnt Irish flags only a month ago. The same people who want to go back to the apartheid days. f*** the UVF. Drug dealing scum. Edited by corkery (06 Aug 2024 7.47pm)

However the hardcore UVF is mirrored by the hardcore IRA types. All drug dealers & thugs. Sinn Fein's optics are not good in all of this a) for Lefty Globalism and b) for the IRA connection. UVF/IRA all best avoided. The populist movement, in the Republic, has a strong animosity toward SF. And probably toward any paramilitary narco-criminal types too. There is also much online footage of refugees being challenged for drug dealing outside their premises. Because of votes & demographics, the apartheid days are over. Its Impossible to recreate the Protestant majority of 1921. However , there is a sensible moderate Unionist voice that mirrors a sensible moderate Nationalist voice.....a huge percentage of people overall. Not interested in conflict and very worried about the direction the UK & Ireland are going. Christianity is underpinning much of this. Edited by PalazioVecchio (06 Aug 2024 10.39pm)
