I think we should forget that he came in in a free - particularly as he probably got a hefty signing on fee. He was arguably our player of the season, is still in his prime, an international for one of the best teams in the world, and is a versatile player. He may be behind Wharton and Doucoure in midfield but the latter is coming back from a lonng-term injury and if Guehi goes, he could be first choice in a back three Bottom line, he would cost a lot more to replace than what is currently on offer

Personally i've been a little disappointed in him as a midfielder, however, he is definitely a decent player and played well in the back 3 so offers us versatility. Also, as we signed him on a free i suspect he is one of our best paid players and almost certainly commanded a sizeable signing on fee that may be spread over his contract. I doubt a Turkish club could compete with that salary.

He's reportedly turned down a new contract with us and we just need to hope that his excellent performances during the Euro's will start a bidding war and add £10m to his price tag. He didn't feature much at the end of season and I feel a defender is easier to replace than a creative attacking one. Lerma would be a fresh blow. He's been brilliant for us and provides more energy than the other midfielders. He also showed that he can play in Glasner's back three. I'm fearing a domino effect after Olise left. Losing Eze as well would be a toughest pill to swallow. I agree, we coped well without Guehi, once we switched to three at the back, Richards, Clyne and even Ward had new leases of life and were excellent. I think if we’ve got the choice I’d sooner keep Eze and Lerma

I presume nonsense but if by chance someone did come in with a great offer - £20m+ that's hard to refuse presumably a critical factor will be the recovery of former POTY Cheick Doucouré Hopefully he gets some football pre-season

If Lerma goes it might give Munoz itchy feet.

This is my thinking... losing Marc G is fine with me, he's not needed in the sense that we can survive without him at this level and the money he brings in, gets us two players. I don't want anyone else leaving and I hope the players can see that staying on is the best thing to do.

I think Doucoure coming back into the fold plays a part in this. Lerma is no longer a guaranteed starter. It's now likely to be Wharton alongside Cheick. I would love to see Lerma stay, but I can see him leaving unfortunately (especially as selling him is all profit).

We need two players in every position and Wharton / Doucoure / Lerma / Hughes is a pretty decent selection for the two midfield positions.

Need to keep Lerma - valuable asset in first team. Surely the key move for Palace Board is being able to move those who don't really show the prowess to reach First Team and thereby use the space in numbers to recruit better quality and provide depth required for all forms of competition (not forgetting injury cover that cost us many a fixture last season)
