Kevin Mabbutt was one of the best players I ever saw in a Palace shirt. Sadly it wasn't for long. He's one of a very small number of players to score a hat-trick against ManU at Old Trafford. It wasn't for us though! Yes he was, a natural goalscorer, similar Mike Elwiss who was also class, but robbed by injury, i can remember when Mabbutt was chasing a long ball, the keeper came running out, and the ball got stuck in a puddle, leaving an easy finish.
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

Agree with you all about Kevin Mabbutt, in a bleak time where it was all falling apart and we were signing some rubbish he was a signing who kept us going and was a great little player. Just as well Billy Gilbert and Vince Hilaire hung around for a bit longer than others as well, Jim Cannon as well, otherwise without those four we would definitely have ended up back in the 3rd division

I was meeting a mate (not an Eagle) who arrived looking quite stunned. I was so convinced he was winding me up we must have looked like we were in a scene from Rainman.

Dyer had the spatial awareness of David Blunkett and the football intelligence of ... I don't know, but he didn't have any. Atilio trying to shepherd him into a space and Brucie looking perplexed and stationary. Comical it was.

Do loan players qualify? Some outside shouts like Ashley Cole if so.
