It's looking very likely that England won't be in a position to win their final match. I'm trying to think of any other sport where the world champions can be eliminated because it rained. Edited by YT (15 Jun 2024 6.52pm) Just hoping there's a decent amount of play. Hear it might clear.

England have done their part. Shenanigans in the Aussie game? Anyone going to stay up to watch it?

I would imagine after the ball tampering affair they were keen not to have anyone drawing the wrong conclusion & have their name tarnished.

'Genuine question' does the Australia v England result get carried forward to the next round, or do the two sides meet again? If the former, then surely it would have been madness for Australia to throw the Scotland match i.e. to thus put themselves at an immediate disadvantage in the next round.

Genuinely didn't think Aussies would throw the match as it would stop their momentum. I'm not sure the result can be carried through in any way - just don't see how that would work. But who knows with the format changes. Just noticed this, which answers your question. Edited by ASCPFC (17 Jun 2024 7.27pm)

I'm confused by the lack of punters. Australia v Scotland was a hugely entertaining game with top talent on show, but hardly anyone turned up to watch. Compare and contrast with the massive turn outs at the Euros.
