I see. I now realise I misunderstood your key selection criterion!

Back to the current England squad...I don't think Kane is going to be fit, or certainly not fit enough to play a full part. Just a rumour-based hunch!

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

I could quite easily have picked Worthington and Bowles, loved them both when I was a kid, but mavericks didn’t really get a look in back then did they? Shame but they only had a few caps between them

Incidentally, sadly Bobby Moore had a 'mare in the away qualifier against Poland, which resulted in him being dropped.

Not one of Alf’s better decisions, considering it was Norman Hunter his replacement who f***ed up for Poland’s goal at Wembley. Shilts didn’t help letting the ball slip under his body……..can you imagine the social media and internet meltdown now

The big one seems to be left back. Doesn't exactly seem covered even in the extended squad. I think Mitchell was the leading English left back on tackles - or certainly in the top two. I don't fully mind if Mitchell is picked or not but surely you would want two natural players in every position - which gives you twenty two - plus the extra goalie required 23. I don't think Chilwell made the squad and Shaw has been either injured or not that good.

They’re supposed to be the experts, but the mind does boggle sometimes doesn’t it? It wouldn’t be the first tournament not just under Southgate that we’ve gone into it light in one or more positions. But as long as we’ve got 10 forwards it’ll all be fine

Maybe that is why we have won sweet F,A for 58 years

Can’t argue with that!! You would’ve thought the likes of Bowles and Worthington would’ve got more caps the way Don Revie through caps around

Of the 33 named so far, 1st Team something like

Pickford

Walker Stones Maguire Trippier

Rice TAA

Saka Bellingham Foden

Kane

Backup 11 something like

Ramsdale

Konsa Branthwaite Guehi Gomez

Mainoo Gallagher

Bowen Palmer Gordon

Watkins

Also take:

Henderson
Wharton
Eze
Grealish

Won't take:

Trafford - rubbish
Dunk - big error in last England game
Quansah - too many ahead of him
Shaw - won't be fit
Curtis Jones - not really playing or in form
Maddison - off form
Toney - off form, Kane declared fully fit

I think Guehi is the only Palace player who will see game time, and I don't expect him to be a Palace player come the start of next season, but I think all could go.

Henderson because Trafford is rubbish
Wharton for the tournament experience, Eze for X factor against a low block in the group stages, and both for being in good form and not the type to cause a fuss in camp if not playing.

26th January 2010 - Enter Administration
2nd May 2010 - D-Day 1 - Survival at Hillsborough
1st June 2010 - D-Day 2 - Survival at Lloyds
7th June 2010 - CPFC2010 exchange contracts.

I know I'm biased as hell, and there is a v low likelihood in it happening, but I'd be taking and starting Wharton. Rice has played as an 8 all season, and all of the proposed CM partners for him would end up pushing him back to a 6.

I'd so with:

Pickford
Walker Stones Guehi Trippier

Rice Wharton

Saka Bellingham Foden

Kane

IMO Eze offers something different. Of his competition, Maddison and Gordon drop out for me.

I just cant see a scenario, where you would bring either of those on ahead of Bowen, Palmer, Grealish or Eze

I want the England squad to be loaded with players from the bottom half of the Premier League, especially Brighton. And all such players to have lumps kicked out of them - plus the players that performed well getting robbed by ManUre etc.

Ashley Young to bust his leg ( jealous husband) having been caught cheating with somebody else's wife.

And no Palace players involved in any rough tackles or other risks.

Not all Eagles fans are English. Nevertheless, England to beat Germany in the final. France & Spain to be eliminated in the group stages - Albania to perform better than expected.
