Fabian Huerzeler seems set to get the gig, which is a shame as he's a brilliant coach.

31 years old, Texas-born German. Took over St Pauli in December 2022 when they were 15th (of 1 and sliding towards relegation. 10 game winning streak in his first 10 games (breaking Klopp's record) and finished narrowly off the play-offs. First full season in charge, 20 game unbeaten run and league champions, promoted to the Bundesliga for first time since 2011. Been compared to Klopp and Nagelsmann and touted as future Bayern manager as he was a youth player there.

If appointed he will be the youngest permanent manager in the Premier League taking the record from our own Attilio Lombardo. He might not have look the youngest but he was.

I always had Lombardo down as the youngest-ever PL manager/head coach, although I believe he was only ever 'caretaker' manager at the end of the ultimately disastrous 97/98 season. Youngest, that is, until Ryan Mason became 'interim' manager of Tottenham a few years back. Typical that we were robbed of something by Spurs on a technicality!

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Stand by for Levy to appoint an 8 year old prize winner on a half hour job share basis during the summer.

If he can find one that's willing to do it unpaid as 'work experience'.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!
