There are still a lot of people around that still believe. Even if it’s not attending a traditional church. Many go to hired school halls on a Sunday and worship there and many are young people. They to me have found a faith and it helps them through their lives which for many can be hard. It’s also a community thing for which they make friends and perhaps is even better than internet dating? I’m not religious myself but I know many that attend church in a Sunday as well as other meet ups during the week. It may not be on tv anymore but that’s down to the media who decides for us what we should be watching? Interesting topic but I would say religion isn’t dying it’s just not thrown via the tv into our faces anymore?

to answer the OP,

if religion really is dying, then the 'Defender of the Faiths' our good king .....isn't doing a very good job of it ?

there are many things that p1.ss me off about religion. High on the list would be this....

i could start a new religion next week. Dress up in silly clothes, extol the virtues of an imaginary unseen mythological deity, tell everybody else what to do, sing funny songs, chant funny verses, do crazy ceremonies, preached about magic & miraculous time travel, flying carpets, and hearing voices....etc etc.

and i would be lampooned by all the organised religions, lampooned as a joke and a nutter. The big paradox being that my nutty behaviour only mirrored their own nutty behaviours.

That's basically 'it' in a nutshell. We thought in this country that we'd got over the whole religion thing and relegated it to a minority interest, even satirising it. But now it's back with a vengeance and trying to drag us all back to the middle ages, somehow enjoying legal protection in doing so.

I noticed in Munoz first home game, when Wardy knelt down to say his prayers as he does every game, Munoz seemed to follow suit. I haven't noticed since if he still does. I did hear Wardy will join the church after football.
The other thing that I have noticed is how many people who profess to be Muslim dont actually follow the strict laws of Islam, like not drinking alcohol, adhering to Ramadan etc.etc.
In Central London, it appears to me like most practising people are Muslims. I know most of my local Mosques seem to have loads of people attending whereas Churches are just a few at each event. They were even praying on the pavement the other day presumably because the Mosque was full. There are always loads of black chauffeur driven Mercedes outside my local mosque.
There are a fast growing number of Muslim people around here. When I was a kid, I dont remember any. I hear arabic or similar being spoken all the time, at least every day.
Certainly I have seen massive change on this topic.

Religion has been and will always be the biggest Cancer known and invented by man. how so many millions have been duped by idiots since time immemorial is the biggest mystery.
