I'd like to think it was because of a cracking team goal

Not so long ago we couldn’t do 22 accurate passes in one game, let alone one move

Thanks eagleman. Some of these modern technicalities are beyond me.

No worries P.O.G. it's only because my grandkids showed me

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Eze v Liverpool.

The start of the upturn.

Away at Anfield.

Team goal.

It really was just like watching Brazil.

Just think, soon everyone will say "It's just like watching Palace".

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

What a nice quandry to have!

As the subject of the thread is PALACE goal of the season, I will go for Eze at Liverpool.

In many years of watching, I can't seem to remember a better team goal. Particularly, as we were going into the game out of form, with lots of injuries and away at heavily fancied title chasing Liverpool.

I would give individual goal of the season to Olise (Luton away) or maybe Lerma or maybe Schlupp? Hey, this is difficult!

A difficult choice but I'd go for Olise at Luton. He made it and scored it with a superb shot.

January 2022 versus Brighton away Gallagher scored following a 21 pass move involving every member of the team including goalkeeper Butland in the middle of the play. It was never nominated for goal of the month as far as I know let alone of the season.

In the purest sense, Jeff's was the best goal IMO.

I know it sounds so minor, but the pass from Wharton was so bloody good. Not a Hollywood 60yrd pass, but switched onto his left to give him a better angle, with a little curl so it ended goal side of Jeff.

The simple option would have been to play it with his right foot a little behind.

Half a foot behind, and Jeff would have had to turn with 2 men on, half a foot in front and it would have been intercepted.

That was probably a ‘wow’ of shock at his teams defending and letting us pass it around like that, we don’t usually get much credit from the big boys when we beat them

He said later it was directed at the fact that Eze was completely unmarked.

How magnanimous of him. Still, thanks for the points Clippety.

Did anyone REALLY think it was for how good the goal was?

I think out of all the top managers we’ve locked horns with since our promotion Jose Mourinho has been the only one to show us a bit of respect and praise us after a decent result against him
