I wasn't knocking him when I said he was lightweight - but he is just a teenager a bit on the slender side. He will beef up a bit in the next year or two and then he'll be an even bigger challenge for defenders. Having said that Wharton is skinny and it doesn't seem to inhibit him in the most physically demanding area of the pitch.

If Franca is played as a winger in a Hodgson set up, where he'll get little service, often in isolation and with the expectation of winning PL games for his mid-table club singlehandedly, he'll always look a bit short of requirements.

In a Glasner set up, he may well be in a position where he can showcase his worth. Let's hope it's high.
