I have no particular interest in the boxing but was curious to see how the stadium would be laid out for the evening (see attached) Whilst there still seem to be seats available I am surprised to see how many have been sold (Pricing from £30 through to £180) Wonder if this is the beginning of the club looking to make more from using Selhurst Park to host other events / helping to fund the main stand upgrade ? Boxing has a much wider appeal than a football match - even my Tesco delivery man said he would love to get tickets for this, except that his wife would kill him - and we're in Somerset!

Just enough to win the contest, or would you perhaps like the opponent to end up in hospital? Just an expression. Not many watch boxing saying "just hit him hard enough to rack up the points".

There are dozens of football matches every week. This is a rarely seen top level boxing match in South London featuring a local boy and Palace fan. Hardly a shock that it is selling well. I doubt it would be a sell out if they did it 38 times a year.

Go on Rich!!! Having boxed myself, it would have been the dream for me to walk out at Selhurst Park. At least I'd know that crowds there had seen equally pathetic sporting performances
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

The other guy looked comfortable throughout the fight. Last round now and he needs a KO

It looked to me as though RR gambled on later fatigue and perhaps a big punch to stop CBS. Didn't come and therefore almost all other rounds went to his opponent. Not a disgraceful performance from our man but the victor was deservedly that.

I used to love boxing and regularly went to live events. I gave up mainly because of the ridiculous ticket prices and watching a fight in a stadium is never a good thing, you are better off watching it at home on TV. The fight cards have also been poor. Along with this are the idiots who turned up and get drunk and don't even watch the fight. I can think of cheaper ways to get drunk than pay £150 for a ticket and then £8 a pint. These days I don't even watch on TV. All the while people are prepared to pay silly money the promoters will continue to put on rubbish cards. Eventually I expect the public will cotton on.
