'Molten with anger' over something you probably couldn't have described until the Daily Mail told you to feel angry about it.

There have been so many similar examples of this over the years that no one gave a s*** about, 'your outrage' is completely engineered.

England s*** from 2012 with multi-colour crosses; [Link]

Team GB uniform from 2012 which also changed the colour on the Union Jack: [Link]

Amazing that these weren't controversial at the time....

Snowflake.

If you truly believe that my outrage is "Engineered", influenced by my beloved 'Daily Mail' you could NOT be more wide of the mark.
Ridiculous accusation as is your assertion that I am a 'Snowflake'. Those who know me would view such an accusation with incredulity.

This is my final comment on this discussion as hyperventilating with nostrils flaring akin to an angry bullock is far from beneficial to my health.

Yeah and any ‘outrage’ at that was a crock of s*** as well…?

This culture war s***e is just nonsense on both sides.

Yep.
I don't care enough about athletics to be interested in what they do with flags, but I don't understand why pink & purple should be any more acceptable than red, white & blue.
The Olympics to me is just a drug assisted borefest of running, jumping and throwing things.

Total and utter hogwash.

A surrender to the Woke agenda.
The defacing of our Union Flag is nothing short of disgusting.
Those on the 'Left' might deem this acceptable, those on the 'Right' are not 'Snowflakes' at all, we do NOT agree with the insulting decision to change the flag to pink and purple.
Nothing is sacred in this modern 'Woke' world.

I have nothing more to add, conniptions leading to hypertension is not recommended for those of my advanced years.I have become beetroot-gilled as I have elucidated by sentiments, molten with anger, red mist of fury surrounding me.

I can't get quite as overwrought as you, but I agree that it's wrong. Why do it? I can only assume it's because it gives people - consultants, designers, artists, manufacturers - a way of making more money.

Not the same, but it reminds me of the day when England turned out at Twickenham in purple jerseys, and we all had a purple card on our seat, to raise when the team came out - no doubt the brainchild of some marketing man on £250k. England put on a dire performance, prompting Brian Moore on the commentary team to remark, "If you dress rugby players like prats, they'll play like prats." What was perhaps worse was that the play was so tedious that people in the upper stands behind the goals started amusing themselves by forming the cards into darts and competing to get them between the posts. Never again.

By the way, Willo, I have noted down "conniptions" in case I ever get round to compiling a new edition of Willo-isms.

Amazing it wasn't controversial before that.

Just shows how dramatically the balance of our population has changed in that time.

Spare a thought for any Scots who might hate the changes to the flag issue, they now risk prosecution for voicing anything that can be construed as hate.

And since Rangers are playing Celtic on Sunday the courts could be busy enough next week.

Well I woke up this morning feeling all relaxed had a long weekend l,drank a few beers and am now looking forward to a few days off.

But I knew that deep down something was missing...

There appeared to be nothing totally nonsensical to be really cross about. Thank heaven we can now get really angry about yet another thing that reflects from all the rest of the bad things happening in the world this morning. All the bills going up all the way and poverty.

But now we have another reinterpretation of a different flag to get all frothy about.

I have had enough of this woke nonsense so am off to Liverpool in Saudi as you won't catch them allowing any of this nonsense!

This is ridiculous. I'm very proud of being British, have lived in the USA for most of my life, but still retain my British passport.

Every time I go home I feel a great sense of pride when I see the Union Jack. A flag that means a lot to me, and many others in Great Britain and this world.

I understand there is history and traditions that some people may feel objectionable, but similar things exist in all cultures. People and cultures evolve, that doesn't mean we have to tear down the past or erase our history.

If you're an artist, feel free to change the flag to state your position. If you're the British Olympic team, show more respect and keep the flag as it's meant to be.

It's our national flag, men and women have died for it.

If people want to change the flag of St George or the Union Jack then lets have a proper national debate about it.

What I object to is the sneaky way this is being done by certain people who think they know better. I don't care if Banksy wants to paint an alternate version or a celeb wants to do Instagram the same, that is freedom of expression.

The England team and the British Olympic team represent this country and should show the flag as it is.

The ongoing engineered outrage at this sort of s*** is so boring it's untrue - how have we reached a stage where anyone considers themselves 'in a state of apoplexy' about the flag of Team GB at the Olympics... the most mindless s*** you could ever imagine, and people chomp at it over and over again. I didn't even know Team GB had their own flag until I read that I am supposed to be outraged about it.

The snowflakes are most certainly on the right these days.

Just maybe some do care about our history. Clearly some don’t so they go protesting about wars in the Middle East which have f*** all to do with them !

even as an irish Eagle, i would defend the right of Nigel in Croydon ( or Alaister McAlaister in Belfast ) to wave the traditional Union Flag.

all this woke b0.llox has gone too far.

The Olympics ? i bet nobody can even remember the names of 1% of Olympic 'stars' ?

I am as outraged as Willo about the attempt to change our precious Union Flag, but he expresses his view far more elequontly than me, suffice to say 'hear, hear'.

Our United Kingdom is seriously under threat with all this wokery and the Scots should be ashamed of themselves if they continue to vote for all the equality nonsense north of the border.

Feels to me like a revolution is on the way.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.
