And provide biometrics! What though if he was travelling under an assumed name? As I said there is a lot of corruption in SE Asia and obtaining fake documents, using genuine templates and stationary is not uncommon or particularly expensive. I was once the victim of it when recruiting a staff member who presented exemplary documentation and references but on arrival clearly was unqualified. She had bought them all. It wouldn’t be the passport that would be fake but the documents that enabled him to get it. Yes certain nationalities are very adept at producing forged documentation. Some are not forged but have been obtained using brown envelopes Both these practices were a daily occurrence in pakistan. If this character had applied for a visa using a Thai passport I am sure his biometrics would have been compared against all necessary databases

He is now 80 and could be due to receive care at our expense anyway. How long for? This is true but his life, up until now, wouldn’t have been the same as swanning about in the Thai sunshine!

Lucky us we get him back. I know he's our responsibility and he should face justice for his crimes but the thread is about taxpayer money funding depravity. There's nothing we can do about it, I can still moan though.

Bribing officials is so commonplace it’s expected. Biometrics is probably what alerted them so were waiting for him. Edited by Wisbech Eagle (03 Apr 2024 5.47pm)

It was though the cost that was the complaint. Well nothing can be done about the reasons for the cost.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |
