Forgive the digression but he has the attitude of a footballing Joe Bugner. Overly cautious in everything he does and won't let himself go for some reason.

Scottish pub football at Celtic is sadly his level.

We said exactly that at the game yesterday, it shows how bad their top flight is and how dominant Celtic are if Edouard scored 80 odd goals for them

In the knowledge that we need a new striker and will probably look for one this summer, then 6 months ago I would have stuck with Edouard and outed Mateta, however as most seem to agree, it is the complete opposite now.

Unless Glasner does something miraculous in the next few months with Edouard to unlock his scoring boots that were so evident in Scotland then he quite simply has to go.

For a long time I could never decide who was better, or who was worse, Mateta or Edouard. However, JP has suddenly stepped up to the mark leaving Odsonne way behind.

I'm not sure JP is ever going to be a 15 goal a season player but he definitely merits his place in the team at the moment, which is more can be said for Edouard.

He isnt being played in his best position, he isnt a winger. The criticism is unjust, he will come good once he is played correctly.

his best position ? that would be padding-out the squad at Charlton or some other League One outfit.

Kayla did Anfield & Old Trafford

He played in his preferred position for first half of the season and he didn’t run and put in zero effort!! He also kept giving the ball away with all his silly flicks and inability to find a teammate two yards away!!

This has been the problem. He had a decent start to the season with a few goals (thanks to several Mateta assists) but then acted as if he seemed to think he'd done enough. I was hoping he'd be OK in a 3-4-2-1 system playing in an old-fashioned inside forward position but I'm not sure he will be.

As has been said, Franca did more in 10 minutes yesterday than Edouard did in 60.

I expect (or perhaps "hope" is the word) Edouard to be gone in the summer for an upgrade. Let's face it he isn't a team player and, if we've learned anything about our new manager it's that Glasner is all about "the team",

All the same was said about Mateta, now look how he has progressed being played and given service. The same will happen with Edouard when Glasner sorts him out.

No, it wont, i used to have this difference of opinion with Sprites, always said Mateta was decent, The difference is Mateta did well in the Bundesliga, Edouard played in what was equivalent to non league.

I doubt Edouard will allow himself to be sorted out. He's basically lazy and selfish IMO. Mateta was always willing to work - just didn't apply the effort in the right way but that has changed.

Mateta scored his goals for Mainz who finished in the bottom half of the Bundesliga when he was at the club.He scored his goals for a club that were far from challenging at the top.

Edouard was at Celtic for 4 seasons and in those seasons they finished as Champions 3 times and 2nd to Rangers in 1 campaign.
It is same to assume that playing for a top team gave him more opportunities to score.
