“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

Jason Puncheon, born in Croydon, lived in Clifton Road, which is near the ground, and was a ballboy at Selhurst Park.

Great player for us indeed. Off the pitch a very different story! I used to play with Marlon King and we obviously used to socialise outside of training. He was good friends with Troy Deeney who in turn was very good mates with Punch. I was often with two of them and occasionally in the company of all 3. Not at all nice people.

‘Great’ player?? He had a good little spell under Pulis, scored a handful of important goals to help keep us up in that first season. But after that he never did much else for me, apart from giving us that sniff of hope in the cup final of course. Went missing in games, quite lazy and gave the ball away a lot. But we all remember different things and have different expectations of players and we’ve certainly had a lot worse, so I respect your opinions

I recognise some of his worthy performances but I would not bestow the honour of using the word 'Great' to describe his contribution to his boyhood club.
