As another poster recently mentioned on another thread, the banners have served their purpose. Once, twice, is fine (even if you don't agree with them) but from this point on they're only hurting the teams spirit and chance of survival.

I agree here.

As much as it falls very far from my consciousness to even consider the production of a banner, when it reflects your frustrations it's hard to be too opposed to one.

I think the time for action may have passed now although I still feel Roy may get the chop. As fans, with any interest in our club at heart, the only recourse we have now is to roar the team on as vociferously as possible, even if we're unhappy, IMHO.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

FWIW In my opinion - Pyrotechnics (in general) only belong in organised displays or in the hands of trained professionals.

I hate to see flares at football grounds. Most of these fanatics are too young to remember the 65 killed and over 250 injured in the Bradford stadium fire and we don’t want that happening again.

Flares yes.

Banners is a more tricky one. I felt at Brighton at 3-0 down the banners were justified.

But before a game that we actually played pretty well in feels like a kick in the teeth to the players.

It also implies that everyone agrees vs a select few

It is illegal to possess 'pyro' either en-route OR inside a stadium. Here is the FSA's explanation/clarification on it, for those in the HF who might want to take note(or anyone else who's interested) . . . [Link]

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Wouldn’t be surprised, if the club receives a fine for allowing them to be brought into the ground.
It appears these aren’t fans, but attention seekers.

That's the thing, they know, or, should know that they can get fined, 3yr banning order, BUT, i bet they don't know, nor give a fcuk, that the club can be fined & have the LWH closed because of them.

If it were down to me, I would follow the vast majority of German clubs.
Heavily discounted seats for the singing section which would be the whole of the Homesdale road end. £20 per match and 50% discount for OAP. That would create a massive wall of defence and noise for the team. The cost effect would be insignificant. Say £10 x 8000 = £80k per match. Nothing for our turnover.
The wall of noise colour and atmosphere would become the best in the country.
The deal would be they all have to sing throughout the game.

With regard to fire risk in the event of flares, that stand is all concrete so it would not catch light.
The old Main stand well that's another matter. Im amazed its even passed by the fire authority.

The ease with with flares/smoke bombs whatever appear in the stadium is a mystery to me, unless the security check for entry is useless...

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

They are an annoying bunch of attention seekers, and an embarrassment to the club.
Parish panders to their every whim for some mysterious reason.
Don't they get frisked like everyone else ?
I'm sure if I turned up at the turnstile and was found in possession of a flare, they wouldn't let me in, or at the very least confiscate the flare.

Completly agree with this post.
I didn't see the banners as in upper tier (due to having to give up my previous lower tier season ticket to them). They seem to think that they speak for all Palace fans when it comes to Palace or politics.

I don't like Parish but I have some sympathy towards him in that he has pandered to them and gives them what they want at nearly every turn and now with the first sign of adversity they turn on him.

What's the point in security and getting frisked when it's that easy to smuggle in a dozen or so flares ?

Do the HF represent your views ?

Discuss.

Big fan of flares/smoke bombs etc. Common place in Europe, where football stadium atmospheres are far better than the sterilised Premier League grounds.

regards to the comment on the Bradford fire, the stand was made of wood. Just wouldn't happen today.

As for the banners, not impressed of late. I don't think the message on the banners represents my views, nor the majority of the fanbase. It's not helpful at the moment. Should focus on getting behind the team instead with positive banners.

On the whole, I see them as a credit to the club.

Straight question. Get rid or no?

I was no. Now I'm get rid.

They are mindless idiots who don't help the club and, having taken the seats of others, are now biting the hand that fed them

I wouldn't say get rid as i wouldn't deny people supporting their team. I do however think there should be punishment for the flares i.e. short bans for individuals or closure of that area for a few games.

Overall I think they need their necks wound in a bit. They think they are like some of the big ultra groups in Europe but in reality are just a small group that thinks that they ARE the voice for all Palace fans when they are most definitely not!

And most of their new "songs" are just dirge!!
