If Eze and Olise had been fit this would have been an exciting squad....albeit with a ailing managerial set up.

If Roy was going to go, he would be gone by now. So I think it is fair to say he will be in charge against Chelsea.

From what has been said in various media outlets yesterday and today it’s because a replacement is not available. Reading between the lines that rules out Potter and cooper as there is nothing stopping them coming which means they don’t want it. That will be the 2nd time cooper has turned us down and if that is the case he can do one and SP should not give him a third chance to turn us down in the future.

There must be a real issue behind the scenes that is putting a manger off. Let’s face it that can only be the reason Roy stayed on for this year. That is a real worry going forwards.

The biggest worry though is Roy is not going to change. He is probably going to be even more pig headed in his beliefs. It is going to be more of the same. Henderson in goal, old faithful ‘experienced’ pro’s and RoyBall to the max.

We are going to suffer. It is going to be a long few months. We can only hope that we get a few games out of Eze and Olise and that Wharton and Munoz add something.

Dear lord I fear this is going to be a hard watch.

TBF I think most managers would not take on this job now. Transfer window closed, squad in disarray and injuries to key players. SP should have made the decision after Bournemouth

Back to the drawing board for Mr Parish as Neil Warnock has become manager of Aberdeen so the avenue of employing an experienced replacement for Roy Hodgson is closed.

If it is said that currently unemployed managers are reluctant to come to Palace, quite frankly, I can't believe any young upcoming manager in lower divisions couldn't do a better job of utilising our existing talent, employ sensible tactics and restore the confidence of our demoralised players.

What’s Big Sam doing atm?

Calculating how much he can screw Parish for to agree to take the job?

We are going to suffer?? Apart from the odd spell here and there, I’ve been suffering for 49 years now, so it’s nothing I’m not used to

Agreed. I put a post up yesterday regarding what I think we will get in terms of points. I had it as 12 pts from 2 wins and some draws.
What we need is a backs to the wall approach. Every game is now a cup final.

i hope your 12 pts is right, that may well do it.
I looked at games and thought 10pts was a stretch with current injuries etc.
A rabbit out the hat win is required (chelsea?) or villa end of season.
feck knows really.
heroes are required.

We should survive.....but I don't think it's going to be as stress free as the last few seasons.

Sadly,we lack the fight necessary to stay up without change at the top.
Our relegation rivals will see us in disarray without key players and will be picking their lips at the very real prospect of three easy points when they play us.
Looking towards next season,a Cooper appointment will give us a good chance of an immediate return to the Premier League following almost certain relegation this season under the dinosaur, who has totally lost the plot.

I simply don't buy that a replacement is not available.

It maybe that a long term manager isn't available at the moment, but I'm sure there would be takers for the rest of the season (which gives them opportunity to prove themselves as a permanent manager).

We need to rethink the approach given the absentees and we know that Roy is not good at adapting. So we are on the slippery slope already. What's the risk of changing things even for a stop gap manager.

Is Parish giving us this as excuse not to remove Roy ?

The only logical explanation for not pulling the trigger is that he had promised his good friend Gareth Southgste the job after the Euro’s

If that is the case he is in a very tricky situation right now!
