I feel sorry for Roy. It’s feels like the end of the road after todays capitulation. I for one don’t blame him. He did a fantastic job last season and started this one well, but the truth is, his appointment was always a short term stop gap. At the time we were all torn as to whether he should be given another year. He was the cheap low risk option, which probably suited our pragmatic approach at time. The squad is thin and unbalanced, and in my opinion he’s doing the best he can with the limitations. We’re 2-3 signings away from being a really strong side. I don’t know who the club are speaking with - but I don’t see any other reason for Potter to be at the game today. He would be my first choice replacement. If he was there for another reason and we don’t have the right candidate currently available, I’d like Roy to see the season out with us. If it is the end for Roy, it’s a sad day for football. Great servant to the game and we’ve been fortunate to have him to help guide us through some rough patches in recent years, and I hope most Palace fans will remember him fondly for that. I almost wholeheartedly agree with you. Not sure he started this one well, although Olise's injury didn't help.
You'll be forever in my family's memories and it was an honor and privilege to play and lead in the red and blue |

All part of the boards master plan, dont back the manager, let him lead us to relegation, scrap plans for the main stand we was never getting anyway.

I get why many are criticising the board but they have FFP and no where near the money to compete with the big boys or even Nottingham Forest so the manager has to produce something out of not a lot. In think he should go, not only for the sake of a completely fresh approach but his own health. Thanks Roy but we need a change. But why don't we have the funds????? that's the most obvious question to ask... a long club, in the prem for a decade should be seeing money being thrown at us - it's very lucrative...

Sorry I don't feel sentimental at all. He's paid £4m+ a year. How many 78 year olds can say that? It's a business he's in not a vocation. I'll grant you he came up trumps when it was needed but the Palace under him are the least attractive team in the PL and most fans are as low in spirits as I can remember.
I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything. |

We probably needed a hammering like todays before the powers that be take any action. We need more resources and an effective short-term fix. Sheffield United must be looking forward to 30 January?

One of the most irritating things from my perspective during the current bitchfest are the constant references to young players who haven't even had a decent Championship loan.

You should have put this in the positivity thread Henry. I genuinely believe that there’s some truth there and a routine, Hodgson-esque 1-0 defeat would have been the worst result. At least now there’s growing clarity that the situation may be quite dire and more poignantly, unsustainable if we are to avoid catastrophe.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Wednesday evening at Merseyside. Saturday lunchtime at the Emirates. most teams would struggle. What got Roy, for me, was the shyte results against smaller teams....so many of them. And Luton town.....that one really hurt.
