There is no way we can be signing a 27 year old as we have to factor in at least 3 years on the bench while Roy assesses the 'south American lad,' and persists with Ward who is old enough to fit perfectly into Roy's dated tactics and training style.

I think this is one that the board think they have to do to placate the fans. Harris and Blitzer can use Andrex instead of gold leaf as toilet paper for a week. Their kids will have to make do with only one luxury car on their birthdays. Poor sods. The wives may have to cut down on the individual "tennis" "coaching sessions".

In general terms, I would be averse to entertaining the signing of any player who takes 'Strike' action in order to facilitate a move away from the club to whom he is contracted. A 'Red flag' would spring to mind. Edited by Willo (24 Jan 2024 11.06am)
