are you being pedantic, as usual ? And in other news, Croydon is far safer than Johannesburg It also might surprise you to learn that it's the 14th safest borough out of the 32. That said, after two years of falling violent crime and murder rates (homicide? are we American now?) it should be concerning that they're rising again.
Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons. |

When was this then? Parts of croydon have always been well scummy. It always seems to be that often when people refer to 'Croydon' they mean the town centre. Croydon central. Maybe sometimes lumping in a random selection of some of the more northern wards when it suits. Croydon is a slightly bigger place than the above average population density town centre. Coulsdon, Kenley, Croham, Sanderstead, Purley, Selsdon... no middle class wealth and leafy suburbia there.

It’s the most significant factor. That is rather important. In your opinion. I’d agree that it’s a contributing factor. Anything more deterministic requires some serious citation and research. It’s easy to find comfort in simple answers but the reality is often far more complex. I appreciate that’s too destabilising for some but that’s life

Feckin Daily Mail readers don’t notice Croydon is the most populous London Borough Can’t find this years stats, but last year: Croydon is among the top 20 safest boroughs in London. The overall crime rate in Croydon in 2022 was 86 crimes per 1,000 people. This compares favourably to London's overall crime rate, coming in 9% lower than the London rate of 95 per 1,000 residents. For England, Wales, and Northern Ireland as a whole, Croydon is among the top 20 safest cities, and the 1,165th most dangerous location out of all towns, cities, and villages.

When did this happen? I know many years ago it was discussed as a possibility

If you posted on here about Khan's narcissistic hypocrisy you would have little time for anything else. London is fooked and will run out of money sooner rather than later.
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |
