It sounds like we have had £4m rejected which is fair enough. I think £10m is too much but maybe £6m rising to £7m is where it should be. Everything I’ve read about him makes it appear like he is nailed on to make it at the top level but it would be an expensive mistake if he does not.

Edwards is highly rated - England u20 Captain. If we accept this as being true couple of questions cross my mind; Doesn’t sound like a Hodgson signing at all to me - we have seen this season Roy is reluctant (nicest way I could put it) to play youth and potential - so is someone else pulling the strings in the background..?? Southgate maybe given the England connection..?? Secondly does this mean we are resigned to losing either Guehi or Andersen - I would suggest it does..!! Not saying I am right, and I could be taking 2 and 2 and coming up with 10 - but on the face of it does all seem very un Roy like - and not just a little odd..!! COYP

COYP I don't think you can read anything into it at all. Almost certainly not a Hodgson signing and most certainly a Dougie Freedman signing. But that is the modern game, and the same all over the prem. It's not managers who sign players anymore but the scouting teams at clubs.

If The Posh want £10m for him we haven't got a chance. SP won't pay what we paid for Richards. The first of many stupidly low bids by us for players. The groundwork is being dug for SP's excuses for Feb 1st and no signings.

Peterborough will want top dollar and a resell percentage as they have to give 50% of the transfer fee to Barnet as that was part of the agreement when he signed for Posh from Barnet

If we really want him we'll need to cough up what Posh want especially if there are other PL clubs seriously interested. As I recall, we had this battle with Posh over the same player a while back and if I'm not mistaken we wouldn't pay their asking price for Toney either, so Brentford got him.
