Apparently The Arse turned down our opening bid for Eddie N. I expect we asked for him on loan (Arsenal to pay his wages) with a buy clause at the end of the season but only if we wanted him. They've been reported as wanting £50m for Nketiah. He's their player and they can set whatever price they like but Édouard has a better scoring record per game.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

True, Nkitiah from Arsenal & Matias Soule from Juventus are the only 2 that have been rumbling on & i think there was another young brazilian that Textor wants(allegedly). We 'need' a DM, to cover for Doucoure, but Richards is doing a great job there. RB, Clyne is a whole lot better than Ward. Striker, JPM looks to be coming good & Edouard is now fit. LB, Schlupp & Jairo can & have played there before, tho, i think Schlupp will be used to cover Ayew's absence. So, who/what do we need? Nkitiah was playing today and didnt look good . Arse said they wont loan with a view to buy and want 50 mill for him so i reckon thats as dead in the water as the titanic. There is a piece on news now about Matias Soule , He said he wont be going anywhere so looks off also unless they are playing possum . If i was Steve but im not im Lanzo in disguise!! id keep the money for the new manager in the Summer assuming there is one . If we can keep the squad we have now until then it will be a good window in my humble and honest opinion.

I suspect the win yesterday has convinced SP that we don’t need anyone, other than perhaps a last day loan. Expect a Arsenal youngster who will be crap. Meanwhile we will loan out Ebiowei and Ahamada and then get 3 players injured on the first game in February. ) About the size of it. Edited by dreamwaverider (31 Dec 2023 4.34pm)

So, transfer market opens, how many? buys? loans? nothing? If true, I think Parish has already said, a couple of loans only. Defeat against Brentford and panic might have set in to change this, but I can’t see much happening

Exactly what we said at the game yesterday, if we can keep the fearsome foursome of Olise, Eze, Andersen and Guehi then that’s a good window for us

It always seems that around the the January Transfer window we find our form, injured players come back and Mateta starts scoring. Resulting in us not getting anyone in.

There has been some talk (I think) about Ekitike but as the talk also links him to bigger clubs, he probably won't be coming here.

Hopefully at least a loan to cover us for Doucore. Richards has done okay by all accounts, but we need him as cover across the backline. Kalvin Phillips would do the job, and would give him/Man City a chance to put him in the shop window as he's obviously surplus to requirements there (and apparently Juve don't want him).
