We didn’t have him at the close of last season because he was injured. Sadly, his best playing days are behind him now but he'd always get a big welcome as a visitor to Selhurst Park.

Denial is not just a river in Egypt

No thanks . Watch the game last night and he looks done .Didn't manage to take the ball past one defender , get one cross in or a shot on target .
His sole contribution was chasing the full back into his own half .

Bit like the last couple of years he was with us ,a shell of the player he was ,try's hard but its just not there anymore which just makes him more frustrated and sulky .

Thanks for the memories Wilf, but I think for good or for bad, we’ve moved on.

have to agree. Whilst Gala are massively under utilising him when he does get a decent ball to run at the defender he looks out of ideas and that turn of pace is no longer there.

Nowhere near the player of 5 years ago.

Reminds me of Rooney at that age. After almost 15 years of top flight football their bodies have said no more.

That's exactly right.

Wilf just played too much, especially when he had not fully recovered from hamstring injuries. His days as a flying winger are long gone.

He could play upfront as a false-nine maybe, but he would be the type to need the ball to feet so he can try and twist and turn and get a shot off, and certainly not the type to bring others into the game.

I think he is a better all-round player than he gets credit for, but no longer a fast one.

He knows where the net is. Probably only Olise you can say that about from the current players available. Can’t believe he’d want to come back nor would we pay the wages.

No thanks.
I’ve seen a few Galatasaray games on TV and I’ve not been impressed with his efforts and lack of technique.
I think we let go at the right time - definitely not worth the wages demanded.

Your right it would appear to be impossible. Our smart finish last season may well have been down to his absence.
