Pretty sure the Everton game he didnt train until the Friday that is why Roy didnt pick him. Before the Forest game Roy did his press conference saying he had no new injuries , then on the Saturday Dacoure wasnt in the squad and Roy said he had been told by the medical staff that Dacoure felt tired

If this means that Roy is going to promote Hughes we will be even further in the doo doo than we are now.
I feel really sorry for players who get these injuries though and wish him as quick a recovery as possible.

Yet to be impressed with what I’ve seen of Ahamada so far. Seems rather weak for a central midfield position. Let’s hope I’m wrong as Hughes isn’t the answer either. We will struggle big time I’m afraid without Doucoure :-(

on paper we have a few options , but like you i'm worried.

The obvious choice is Hughes, but whilst he tries he is limited and lacks pace.

Ahamada is another option - and we must have seen something in him as we paid over £10m for him only 10 or so months ago.
Not sure he is the player to sit and hold though.

Jairo seems completely out of favour so i think we can discount him.

Potentially Schlupp could play centrally, but not my preference.

So for me it's a big ask but maybe young David Ozoh is ready to step up. It's his natural position. At a minimum i'd like to see him on the bench each week.

Roy won't play the youngsters, unless he's forced to & atm, he isn't forced to. It'll be Hughes. Agree with you about Jairo, Schlupp was our worst player on Sat, but, could do a job.

Anyway, look on the bright side, Thommo is due back fit by the w/e.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

This has to mean a signing in January I'd have thought.

We are exposed without Doucoure and we don't have anyone who is capable of doing what he does.

We could do with a new Jedi, hopefully one carrying a light sabre too.

I dont see why Richards couldn't step in for Doucoure, its a defensive role, playing facing the ball, reading the game defensively, and simple passing like Doucoure does, seems obvious to me.

It does seem that way on paper. I always question the practicality of such things though and perhaps that's where the likes of managers with so much experience will hold that knowledge some of us don't. I'd like to see if for one match though, perhaps one of the many coming up we're expected to lose and would be in any instance.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

...and in his first game in that position Guehi limps off and then...no decent cover.

It's what we bought him for, chance to get established.
