When you look at the price tag its not to bad for England keeper and someone who would still have many years left in the game. Even if we was to sell him I expect we could get back what we paid or even if he was loaned out it would cost another club few mil for that. He appears to have attitude Palace like as well and already friends with few other players. The issue is we already have England keeper who is now given a chance which at one stage Roy didnt want to again another forced change allowed someone else to shine otherwise he would have rotted. Do you take keeper out who is on form and being selected for country NO

whether right or wrong i think the logic is 1. Henderson - SJ had a release clause in his original contract and with VG forcing a move Palace felt they were short in this position. 2. Holding - there is clearly interest in both MG and Andersen. If either goes we need decent cover. Tomkins was slightly bizarrely extended with this in mind, however, he keeps picking up injuries so further cover was required 3. Franca - seen as a longer term Eze replacement, just as Eze was maybe bought in case Wilf left a few years ago. Will need time, but Eze was never going to leave before next summer so this year was always a free pass. All expensive, but there was some logic to each

1 I Think Holding for 4m is a decent 4th CD
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

You can say that about other sides too why did Arsenal sign Raya.... why have Brighton got two decent keepers... West Ham also... there was a rumour that Johnstone was possibly going to Wolves, maybe that was the case... Franca is completely early days and I’m expecting good things...

The club f***ed up. It's the only explanation that fits the circumstance. Of course they won't admit it. "How are we going to recoup £20m on a keeper who gets injured with his first meaningful kick of the ball Dougie?"

One rumour was Johnstone was going to leave and it didn't materialise So got Henderson. But who knows ? That is the rumour that makes sense. Johnstone was free so probably had no release clause and they may not have been sure he was a number 1 keeper - Guaita was preferred until he got injured. They have now signed him to a longer term contract and he has shown he is a good keeper worthy of being in the England squad. I suspect, if they feel the younger Henderson can be fit most of the time they would look to move Johnstone on. It makse no sense for a team without any interest other than the league having two keepers of equivalent and high level. Just look at Arsenal's situation. Either Goodman - who has done well on loan - or Whitworth should be adequate backups next year

My feeling was that Henderson was bought so that Johnstone could be sold, probably next summer. Johnstone looks a top keeper to me who will go for a good fee (= fat profit). Goodman may be a good back up option next season.

If Gala don't make it through their CL group then I say throw money at them and try and get Boey. He's going to be a star. Top-notch player. Hardly see any chance of us getting him.

In view of the supposed cost (£15 million plus add-ons) this 'investment' is totally unbelievable and plain daft. If his wages are the suggested £100,00 a week it defies simple logic. Rumours abound as to his injury liability and the fact that neither United or Forest thought him worth keeping plus the fact he lasted only 20 minutes on his Palace debut and is rumoured to have a long term injury, makes this a nonsense. Money is tight and as we failed to sign a striker or a full back, two of our most desperately needed vacancies, who can honestly justify this signing?
