I have become allergic to Alcohol. I get very sick after two drinks and have a major hangover for about 4 days. So I no longer drink, to be fair don't miss it. I Wasn't a big drinker anyway.

I am also allergic to Red kidney beans so I have to pick them out of Chilli con Carne.

Not allergic but if the dish is hot i.e. with Chilli or a curry I get the hiccups to the amusement of my family.

Weirdly since I had Covid I now can't face a cup of tea. Before I was drinking 6 - 8 cups a day ??

A lot of people have mild intolerances exacerbated by Covid. Hayfever too - any of those allergies. It can last for a short while or even be permanent.

What a lucky lad, not. They can go hand in hand due to them being immuno compromised conditions.
His diet is gluten free but the only thing that tastes different is bread tbh. Bloody expensive though but there is a good range of different foods now. I will add that GF pasta and spaghetti although a few pence dearer is a lot nicer than standard. Doesn’t go all gloopy like non GF. Just a tip.

Eat keto/carnivore diet would benefit your child and the younger start better the outcome.

this is our natural diet which is why almost every person who does either has no issues and ends up with much improved health.

People in here are throwing around names allergy etc when that is not the case.

Dairy for example the main issue with this is pasteurized when people have raw no issues.

My neighbours gave up gluten not for allergy reasons but a lifestyle choice.

However they are now both allergic to gluten and suffer if they have even a small amount.

Good for them giving it up.

The second part is BS.

Allergic and intolerance are not the same thing people mix them together as if they are the same.

What tends to happen is people would have been having gluten and high amounts of sugar for a long time most people it comes from childhood you give these up and suddenly it changes how you feel if you go back to those you will feel awful. (stopping the likes of gluten aids in gut health if you put it back into the diet you will reject it trying to force it out)

Ive heard a few people speak of not being able to cope with coriander in cooking.

I went to a wedding early in year & as i was flying home next day was very careful, only had 4 pints beer from mid afternoon till end of play.
Main meal was beef & mash in a red wine.
bloody killed me, couldnt face breakfast next day (Ulster fry which id been looking forward to) and had a sad day travelling.

I dont know about others, but when foods sickened me,I can sense which part of the meal has done me in?

Gluten is poor man's food. Descended from the Plebs in Rome. Bread and circuses. Best avoided, even if you can eat it.

Try removing it from your diet, for even just a week.....and notice yourself turning into an Olympic athlete.

Gluten is like alcohol, you can enjoy it even though you know its bad for you. Although i would avoid bread & pasta, the tiny breadcrumbs on a Brunch ice cream ? not really a problem. If you are coeliac, then even those could make you very sick.

Another one to avoid ? Shellfish. Who wants to eat something that filters all the shyte out of the water ? And the risks of getting a bad oyster/mussel. Unspeakable.

Went out for a Chinese with a mate one evening, he used to drink something with angostura bitters in, I tried one, didn't like it but finished it all the same, the next day I felt rough as old boots all day long.

Never did that again.

We stopped using kidney beans years ago as we find them indigestible but use borlotti beans instead in chilli

Doctors know 0 about nutrition and tend to follow the company line on a lot of other things as well (incorrectly by the way which are not backed up by valid science)

No one here has ever been able to counter what I have said with empirical evidence (I stick to real science dating back millions of years)

A large % of doctors do look up medical issues now.

I expect the doctor has it as a joke otherwise you need to look at changing doctors if that is the real attitude of that person. (A fair % of doctors do have that attitude believing they know it all yet they know very little & I take it you are on about GP)

I have had to deal with those sort of people for a long time even with my science background and being a lecturer these people at times think they are gods they know very little about science.
