True, there is a sensible way of addressing his comments but that's just far less fun. There is of course a compromise, something the woke would love even more. Start sticking footballing trannies up there....or stick a blond wig on Ian Wright, might as well. I'm of an age where taking a trannie to a football match meant something entirely different.

If pundits were non-footballers (football writers perhaps) with personality, who are free to be opinionated, it would be far better viewing. And women, or anyone else, could be good. But the culture is, ex-pros. Names in the game who know what it’s like to play at that level. Shoe-horning some woman with experience of basically amateur football, leaves them looking silly.

the fella in the link below is a Legend. Very popular in the US. do our Globalist Elites want to replace him with a Clare Balding or Alex Scott ? Cos the girls can read all the technical stuff off an autocue and they probably pronounce their words more 'proper ' Ever noticed how the shoe-horning of certain people into certain jobs is to fill a quota or tick a box ? Ever noticed how it only seems to be the well paid jobs at the top ? University professors, politician, Media types ? and not so much quota-filling for working a kango-hammer on the M25 potholes ? minimum-wage dirty-work is for men. Dangerous work is for men. Boardroom jobs at NGO's ? oh we must fight the Patriarchy & the scandal of the gender-pay gap. The Western World is reminding me of a Banana-republic sh1.thole. Where the Military Uniformed 'President' cooks the national soccer team...... by loading it with his obese nephews, bespectacled cousins and the like. Send them off to the World Cup qualifiers and they can go up against Wilfried Zaha. Good luck with that. Edited by PalazioVecchio (06 Oct 2023 8.49am)

Leave f..cking-up the World Financial system to the Lads. Didn't Harry Enfield & Paul Whitehouse do a skit on one of their shows, they were Football Managers & there was a female reporter trying to interview them & they kept saying "Where's the bloke"
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

I know he was my non palace hero when I was a kid and I’m a bit biased, but really? Was it that bad what he said?

In general I prefer men to commentate on the men's game and I couldn't care less who commentates on the women's game as I don't watch it but there again I'm a dinosaur. There are a couple of decent female commentators in cricket (Isa Guha and Ebony Rainford-Brent) but Sky have jumped on the female bandwagon and employ some truly dreadful ones including Lydia Greenway who has the sort of voice that's useful for sending people to sleep

The joys of equality. We have to be careful of what we wish for - While good to see knowledge being shown, token people is often a turn off. Hope AI does not develop too far towards big brother, imagine watching Mr. Lineker comment on a ladies match, and all televisions in homes without Walkers Crisps shutting down.

His point is that 22 men on a pitch is totally different to 22 women. Put 11 men against 11 women and his point is probably proved. He’s not anti commentary by women. He'll never be able to explain his point because it doesn't make a shred of sense. If it's such a different game, why was he qualified to go and coach the women?

I don't like Alex Scott but who does? Because it's not at all - there are good commentators and bad commentators and that's not determined by their sex. Martin Tyler and John Motson are two of the most iconic commentators of the past 50+ years and neither played anything close to elite level sport.
