Roy is a gentleman and not a chav

By your thinking, there’s 24 chavs playing in the Ryder Cup at the moment

Certainly not a wally with a brolly, our Roy. I did notice Ray behind him at one point wearing a hooded garment, clearly keen to stay as dry as poss.

It is a worry though and I recall Prince Philip standing on a barge on the Thames in the pouring rain for, I think, the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. He caught Pnuemonia and was never the same after that.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

This thread seems to have been taken over by medics, milliners and royal correspondents.

I must step in with pedantry to defend Midlands. The golfers are wearing golf caps, not baseball caps. And in any case, they are wearing them as part of a sporting outfit, just as baseball players would wear...err...baseball caps, but one wouldn't call them chavs for doing so.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Blimey. It's not often that anyone steps in to defend me

Ray was still in shorts though

Thought it showed how much strength and repect there is running through the team and managment . There was a scene yesterday where Roy was cleaning his glasses with rain dripping off his face while behind him Ten fags was sitting in the dry disscussing his failed coaching system with the umbrella man

I know who players would rather play for ,and it showed

Ten fags! No wonder his coaching isn’t up too much

I have seen Roy stand in the rain a few times now. He always ends up looking like he has been soaked through. Not good for a man of any age. I always end up thinking why doesn't he wear a waterproof coat?

I have an older version of the Palace coat that he wears and it takes on water like a sponge. Surely, there must be a waterproof coat in the range? Or, perhaps someone should tip off Mrs H what she could buy him for Christmas.

Perhaps we should have a whip round.

He loves it. Backs to the wall defending, us against Man U at Old Trafford we’ll take them on and the weather whatever it throws at us. The players must see that too. It’s great I wouldn’t have anyone else in charge atm.
