I agree today is probably a different matter.

My first Polish job was arranging retraining for ex steel workers to become brickies, plasterers, painters and the like.

Industrial reconversion it was called. Seems to have worked.

So you think that tradesman should be unreliable, overpriced and do shoddy work?

If ever you need anything done, give me a call. I'm rubbish, but I'll give you a quote. Just add 30% when you pay and I might turn up if I've got nothing better to do.

I don’t think you understood what I wrote

Which of course is the point

If you came across as someone people can get along with they may choose to do work for you rather than run a mile. Or just not care about the quality of work they do for you.

Oh I did.

You don't know me. In fact, you don't seem to know much other than how to be smug.

Way back when, I heard a saying describing an expert. It's a little dated, but here goes:

'X' is an unknown quantity and a spurt is a drip under pressure.

I'll get me coat.

I thought 'X' is a social media platform which kids use?

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.
