Respect to him for doing ALL his own stunts as well, I’ve watched documentaries on the making of the mission impossible films and it’s frightening what he does. He broke his leg in one of them and they left the scene in the film where he did it, once I knew this I watched it closely and you could actually see it snap when you look close enough

As you say, he really does give a film his all

I agree that Cruise makes good films and his stunt work is excellent, but he's not a good actor. To my mind he always comes across as Tom Cruise.

Our own Bill Nighy, as much as I enjoy his films, is another one who always looks and sounds like Bill Nighy.

Now, Gary Oldman, there's a good actor who gets into his parts well. Was excellent as Churchill in The Darkest Hour. Christian Bale also makes a pretty good fist of adapting to the role.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

The younger Miss YT met him through her work. She says he's a nice fella. I can never get over the surprising fact that his sister is 'Mo' out of 'Eastenders'.

Yes, love Bill, but he plays the same role in every movie.

Overrated - has to be Ryan Gosling. The less he speaks the better his performance!

Underrated - Tom Cruise in Rain man was very good, but got overshadowed by Hoffman, who i thought over acted a little at times.
Christoph Waltz is always very convincing IMHO.
Ben Kingsley - has he ever had a poor performance. So convincing in Sexy Beast. Maybe not underrated for Ben, but just very good!

Excellently horrible in 'Inglourious Basterds'.

He was brilliant in Leon as a the bent copper, and going back a few years, Alistair Sim was brilliant in An Inspector Calls, the Green man and many Ealing comedies

Michael Shannon is greatly underrated, great as General Zod in the superman films and the baddie in The Shape of water.

There's no better Alistair Sim comedy than 'Laughter in Paradise'. Try to seek it out and watch it, Lanzo; you won't regret it.

He mentored George Cole from when he was a teenager. Next time you watch an Alistair Sim comedy chances are that George is in the cast.

George of course was famous for his Arthur Daly character which is just an updated version of his Flash Harry character from the St Trinians films.

I think, but stand to be corrected, that he adopted Cole.
