Tinnitus!! Permanent ringing in my ears. Although I’ve had it 40 years since I was a kid and it would seem strange without it now

a professional street-beggar solicited me today, with the obligatory placard declaring how poor he was and God bless you. I don't think he spoke much English. Being in a hurry to collect my suit from the dry cleaners, i gave him short shrift.

i sucked my teeth as i walked past. Certain in the knowledge that he would not recognize the significance of the slight.....i dont live in London anymore, but brought a bit of it with me.

some horrible noises are theatrical

The wife uttering the phrases:

a) I've been thinking......... which nearly always leads to some suggestion or other which is usually either daft or ridiculously difficult.

b) We need to talk....... which usually means I am in the doghouse having messed up somewhere / somehow.

Gary Lineker is right up there, I’m terms of noises you wouldn’t want to hear.

They also say the laughter of a baby is one of the most joyous sounds. Which is true, unless it’s 3am and you haven’t got a baby.

People who eat with their mouths open - the smack of the mouth. Slurping of soup or drinks.

"Misophonia is a disorder in which certain sounds trigger emotional or physiological responses that some might perceive as unreasonable given the circumstance. Those who have misophonia might describe it as when a sound “drives you crazy.” Their reactions can range from anger and annoyance to panic and the need to flee."

For those of you who think they have an irrational hatred of certain noises.......you actually have a psychotic "disorder".

People have been murdered for less.

That's a good one. A particular bugbear is people who guzzle down tea all day with every one accompanied by a smacking of the lips, a sigh and repeating the mantra - aaah, you can't beat a cup of tea.
A cell door slamming is another nasty sound when you're on the other side of it.

Haha just a little story on that note, many moons ago when I passed my test at the age of 17, I spent more on the stereo than I did on the mark 3 cortina I had bought as my first car. Well I was sitting along South Norwood high with the windows down and music blaring out painfully loud and a copper scared the crap out of me, he sneaked up, stuck his head through the window and shouted in my ear ‘have you got a licence to broadcast?’ I said sounding a bit gormless ‘whaaat??’ He shouted ‘TURN IT DOWN!!’

Fascist
