He's not wrong tho is he. West ham won a European competition last season. Brighton, villa, Leicester, Southampton, Swansea, Fulham, Southampton, wolves all played in Europe in recent years.

All I want is to watch us play in Europe, there's never been a better chance instead the board will be happy to watch us survive another year.

He isn't 100% right either.

Looking at your examples, West Ham have a far bigger financial reach than Palace. And yet we did the double over them and finished above them last season. Their players only really turned up for the European games.

Leicester, Southampton and Swansea all relegated.

Villa, bigger financial reach. Fulham have been a yoyo club in recent years. Wolves now paying the price for over spending in January.

Brighton - bankrolled by Bloom. Able to build a new stadium on a greenfield site that gives them the income a redeveloped Selhurst Park would give Palace. Added to that Bloom has been very shrewd with his appointments.

I get frustrated at times with the way that Palace are run, but I think that all fans feel similarly about their clubs from time to time. Look at Everton !

I think last season was the best opportunity of a European place. Brighton took full advantage of clubs that were underperforming ( Chelsea, Spurs, Villa to name but three ) and got that coveted spot. Palace were labouring under Vieira.

Playing eleven consecutive seasons in the Premier League is a huge achievement given our limitations. It will be interesting to see if the media darlings at Brighton and Brentford manage that.

Why do we wait three weeks into the season to buy our players? Who else does that? Are Brentford or Brighton in better financial positions than us? 11 years in the prem and we still can’t secure a squad before the season starts. A joke. And this is what happens: The players lose confidence, more work is demanded by other players to cover weak players and so they get injured, players from other clubs avoid us because we’re a cheap joke with no ambition or likelihood to go to Europe so we can't improve, and the Parish tight-fisted cycle of surviving on scraps continures. For example, Eze lacks player support so watch him pull a hamstring trying to do it all while Parish sits on his big fat wallet. BS! But it’s my club. Not a disappointing performance from our manager or boys as a disappointing performance from Parish not supporting the boys. Look at Ward, a Palace legend, but gives Arsenal the 3 points. His position is on the bench like Schlupp too perhaps. RB has been a gaping hole since AWB but someone’s either too stupid or too cheap to fix it. If an AWB was in that position would have beaten Arsenal. We really should stop blaming the boys or Roy. Under the circumstances our management forces them to play they should all be applauded, Ward included. Yes, it's time for PARISH to show intent, but it's been this way for over a decade now. He's got all these excuses for not spending and leaving our team ragged for weeks into the seasons, but where's the effing stadium??? No more excuses: look at Brighton, Brentford, Leicester's league cup. Disgusting management behaviour. Lousy behaviour. Just two positions away from an awesome team and season: RB and striker. JUST TWO!!!!! Cough up Parish!!!!

How do you get to blame Ward for Johnstone giving away a penalty? Ward had a good game against Arsenal and kept Martinelli very quiet.
It seems to show you dont have a grip on events.

Oddball, you need to read up on our financial structure and also Steve Parish to understand that what you have posted is way off the mark and totally out of line.

That's all well and good but it's still clear to anyone where we are lacking, ward and Clyne are not good enough, we have one left back with question marks over him aswell, 2 strikers who are as bad as each other, actually that's cruel on eduoard as as poor as he is, not even he deserves to be put in the same bracket as mateta and a prem squad should have 3 strikers anyway. What do we do, go and pay 20 mill for a goalkeeper, like I said we've got 5 players all linked and who could all go and get a move to a big club, we won't keep all five after this season. A strong core to the team with just a couple more signings making all the difference.

Certain players get the blame for every bad outcome it seems.

There are some thick people about, its almost unbelievable that people cannot grasp it, Parish and Textor are not rich enough, and Harris and Blitzer are not interested and want out, until any of that changes the club will be run with sustainability.

I would imagine that they came to discuss the academy & progress in sports science, Saudi as a nation is trying to make the league more attractive, will want to encourage home grown talent to filter into it & at some point in time to represent the national team, our academy is one of the most recent developments so it would make sense for them to talk to us (and no doubt a number of others) to see what we have done, talk about what went well & what mistakes we made / would have done differently if we had another chance -

I thought I would post this. I have no idea if it means anything.

Hopefully Steve was telling them we have a great striker called Mateta an absolute bargain at £100m.

Or they could be here to buy the club? Who knows.

Yes, it's clear to me as well in terms of where we are lacking.

Unfortunately there is no magic wand that Parish can wave to generate the funds we need to strengthen in all those areas. Unless of course we sell one of our major assets.

Spot on Lanzo, you do wonder about someone who thinks it’s better to sign three flops as long as we’ve shown ‘intent’. That sort of ‘intent’ will soon have us back in the championship

If due diligence means waiting till the last day of the window then the club needs to employ better people in that role. It has nothing to do with identifying the right player, more hoping selling clubs get desperate and we save a bit of money.

Is that such a bad thing? It’s served us well for 10 years and we’re still more than competitive without running into serious financial problems

All those trips to the hairdresser and being measured up for those electric blue suits must cost a pretty penny. I'd cut Steve some slack.

Lanzo, did you get exiled abroad? The way you speak about people on here you’d be on your back within 5 minutes at one of the Palace locals. Try having a tad more respect for your fellow fans. Yours is not the only opinion worth listening to.
