I heard there are still two strikers we have been talking to, one Adams and one abroad. We've been outbid on Adams as we didn't want to pay 15 mil - yet he still hasn't gone to Everton - and we haven't given up. The other one I don't know except supposed to be foreign. Obviously doesn't mean we'll get anyone but still we have been trying.

When you think how much Everton paid for someone like Cenk Tosun, a target of ours, £27 million wasn’t it? You can see why we’re a bit wary of splashing out now

It is possible to unearth real jems though, Brentford bought Ivan Toney for just £5M (rising to a maximum of £10M) and Leicester picked up Vardy for £1M.

We need goal scoring forwards, it could be a so called striker, but the outstanding strikers are all outside of the Palace purse, and the really prolific ones are few in number. Palace fall down because most of our mid field, forward players do not score enough, Eze, with ten last year is very acceptable, that placed him joint 18th in a list of league scorers, the rest don’t do it however you want to describe their playing position. A chart shows where goals come from the top five or six are recognised strikers all worth a fortune, but it’s forwards in general that account for many sides goals. No matter what position the goals come from they tend to be worth a fortune.

Im not sure yesterdays game was a good indication of hie overall performance which by the way was not that bad. On a good day which hopefully will come more often when Olise returns, he should score. Don't give up on him yet. And of course their is the young Brazilian still to come.
