We are 2 points better off than this time last season (yes, alright, the point we got then was away to the bin dippers).

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

With a goalkeeper, a back four (albeit a questionmark on Ward), and a midfield trio of pure Premier League class things should look bright this season.

But the attack, OMG, although both wingers working hard, all championship level.

Things will hopefully brighten once Olise is back, but how on earth are we going to score more than the occasional goal until then?

I fear we might very well be in the botton three, hoping Olise can carry the pressure of lifting us immidiately upon return.

I think we look perfectly well balanced to be honest, as someone said above, on our day we can cause many a team problems going forward, but as we all know we just need a goalscorer.

Indeed. Arsenal had their work cut out to keep us at bay. Our attack, even without Olise is capable of causing problems for most PL teams and once Olise is fully back and possibly Franca duly acclimatised and up to speed we'll give any PL team a game.

I would go as far as saying we were probably the best balanced team in the bottom half last season, and nothing looks like it’s changed this season. It’s one thing we haven’t got to worry about. We’re organised, competitive and a lot of pundits like the way we look, yes we’ve got our issues, but how we set up and the balance of the team is not one of them.

I think we do have a bit of a problem currently where we're strong through the middle, but weak out wide. Since the wide players are the attacking ones in our system then we are weak up top. We look like we can probably defend but will struggle to score with our current team. I'm sure we can improve a bit but I wouldn't expect Franca and Olise to immediately improve us. We may be quite low scorers up until November/December - then hopefully improve.

But the quality of the wide or attacking players doesn’t make us unbalanced, yes we would like a bit more quality as in a goal scorer but the balance and shape of the team is good
