It would be good to get confirmation Franca has joined the squad for some light training. I take it this hasn’t occurred yet?

The beatings will stop when morale improves.

Nope, not 'due back' till 16th Sept along with Hughes. MO is not expected back end of Sept/ beginning Oct.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Wot about Fergie? Is he still around?

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Not seen him round here beak, although most of us are confined to our quarters.

Don't you all get to sit around the edge of the communal room once in a while? For foot yoga or 'songs from yesteryear'.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Can you imagine the ironic cheer if he ever plays 90 minutes, it would end his long standing relationship with the physio!

Getting nervous about Franca - back stress injury or spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis take minimum 3-4 months for recovery. Seems we missed that in the medicals, maybe because it requires an MRI or CT scan to detect. In any event, itr didnt sound like we were of aware of this when we bought him, or maybe there is a clause in the contract to mitigate pre-existing conditions.

Hopefully we don't have another Fergie on our hands.

You’re not on your own. Reading Roy’s report on injuries he refers to Franca having an injury that needs to be carefully watched, whatever that means. He also refers to how serious Olise’s injury is.

We desperately need a winger, we can’t rely on Schlupp, Ayew and bit part appearances from JRS to get us through the next couple of months.

Parish obviously disagrees as he thinks that we need a centre half.

The management thought that we needed Lewis Hall and were about to sign him on loan when he was whisked away to Tyneside. If that was the case shouldn't we have been looking at someone to fill the role that was originally earmarked for Hall?

You would have thought so. Not sure how an identified priority can be changed to a completely different position on the pitch.
