Do clubs still have a scouting network at lower league level. You know the old guy who does the circuit in the South West of wherever and picks up the phone if he spots someone. Or is it all stats based at that level.
Software options are available and this is what larger clubs use but it has a high price which lower league wont be able to afford.

Jack Clarke of Sunderland is the best winger outside the Premiership, but i suspect it will take most of the 35m to buy him.

a good starting point is the EFL team of the season and the young person awards/nominations. I believe both MG and MO were named just before we bought both. For the Championship many are from promoted clubs, so are unlikely to move, and in the lower leagues they are often experienced professionals e.g Barry Bannan. Obviously JRS got nominated in Div 1 so we arguably already have the best young winger outside the top division!

I find it really odd- after years of interest in Sarr we never went for him. Outside of Clarke, we’ve been constantly linked with Ronnie Edward’s at Posh. I I recall a link with Blackburn CM Adam Wharton. Never seen either play but maybe with the Olise cash we might revise some interest. Obviously I assume winger is our current priority.
