I know we are screaming for strikers and full backs, but the injury to Doucoure puts a temporary ready-to-go replacement loan at the very top of the pile.

Everything else has to wait.

Sorry Silver , I have to disagree with you there, i think Richards is doing an outstanding job stepping in for Doccoure and Lerma playing higher up the feild . It seems to be working so long as no-one else gets injured .

Not sure it is working. The home game v Bournemouth showed that. Richards has done ok in an unfamiliar role, but his passing limitations are being exposed. Away from home he can do a job, but at home when we have more of the ball he is a passenger.

As for Lerma, he is not a natural playing further up the pitch so i would prefer him in a solid 2 with Eze in front.

Yes, I agree with this but would also say we looked better as a team away against City when Richards dropped back into a more comfortable position and Ozoh slotted into midfield. Richards is a great third centre back to have but I would rather see a natural midfielder in such an important position.

Chalobah would be a decent loan or purchase as he can play several positions and could help fill in for Doucoure whilst he is injured.

I agree, exactly the type of player we should be looking at. Can play DM, CB and RB no brainer imo

the other thing is we will already have the replacement for Guehi/Andersen so we can hold out for what we want 60/70/80m?

Chalobah is decent for sure.

But I would not support selling Guehi or Andersen half way through the season and getting him in a replacement.

If we can get Chalobah on loan then that would be ideal.

No, i certainly wouldn't sell either now, loan with obligation to buy in the summer should suit all party's

We had Lewis Hall in the bag but Newcastle out bid us with a hefty option to buy plus add-ons.

I suspect Chelsea will hold out for similar. We will only get him (if we want him) if there are no takers.

Or we dangle the Guehi carrot, for the end of the season, he is going to go anyway, sell him to Chelsea in Jan for 40m plus Chalaboah, under condition they loan him back until the end of the season.

Lerma played as a box to box midfielder for Bournemouth not a holding one. Scored a few goals for them when getting forward including a cracker against us at Selhurst in our 5-3 win!

"Crystal Palace eye up Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah in £25m deal to replace Marc Guehi"

Would be terrific business.
