I just caught it online as we scored #2 for about 20 mins.....

if we don't lose any key players, we could be in for an exciting season...

Fairly easy game for Palace didn't think much of Lyon and they finished 7th in their league.

If Textor tries to offload any of their players onto us, based on that performance, no thanks.

Bearing in mind many believe pre-season friendlies mean absolutely nothing here is my take.
We look like an experienced (which we are) well-drilled organised outfit that have a reasonable idea of what they are doing.
Our squad now has a decent number of Premier League games under their collective belts, which I think will assist in us enjoying a non-relegation season.

I thought we looked badly exposed down our left side and lacked the incision of the latter part of last season. Far too many fouls from Lyon too for a friendly.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

I think this season we will be safe, Luton bless em will occupy the bottom place all season, that just leaves 2 places which will be between the clubs coming up and the over achievers from last season. But next season we could be in trouble if we become complacent.

We competed well and limited them to a few chances where Johnstone made some good saves.
Both our goals were from set pieces with poor defending that we may not encounter in the Premier League.
If we field this lineup in the early part of the season I think the games will be tight matches with a goal either way deciding the outcome.
If we can add some more flair before the window closes in the absence of Zaha and Olise that would help decide tight games where the inspiration is missing.

I'd take Cherki. He looks useful would replace Eze when Ebz leaves next summer.

The ref allowed Lyon to foul at every given opportunity, I was actually surprised Ayew managed to walk off the pitch, shame we didn't play Rak-Sakyi for longer ..ten minutes was ridiculous.

The last ten minutes Lyon looked a much better outfit, up to then though they played disgracefully and none of them stood out.

Very poor..however we looked comfortable..personally I can’t wait for the Brazilian boy ..think he’ll take in his stride...be surprised....it’ll be an exciting ride....

A lot of positives from today:

Johnstone is a beast
Defence looked solid
Lerma and Doucoure will be a great pairing
Eze is by far our biggest threat and we'll look great when we have him, Olise and França
Ayew works very hard and Édouard managed to find the net!

We are a left back and a striker away from having a decent squad IMO and I don't think we will struggle if we get those in

It was a friendly, so meaningless.

It was noticeable how we became less solid when Doucoure went off.

Need more firepower.

It was worth going just to witness Sam Johnstone’s wonder save right in front of us at the Whitehorse end, incredible, save of the season already
