today, most comedians do represent the Establishment.

Either that or they get cancelled.

the only comedian with any balls is Ricky Gervais. And even that is connected to Ricky having already made enough money to retire forever.

Once upon a time he was funny.
Like once upon a time Frankie Boyle was funny. Hard to be funny and alternative when you're saying things authorities will congratulate you for.

Do you have any examples of this? "Genuine question", as they say, as I have tried in the past to watch him with an open mind, but not once did I find anything he said funny.

Incidental and irrelevant note: my parents and his parents used to be friends when they lived in Bexhill.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

The Greens are a disaster for Brighton. Long may they continue to be so.

I'm going back 30 years ago probably. When I was in my 20s. I did have a VHS video of his. If I watched it now I probably wouldn't laugh.

Re you parents. Small world. I once saw him driving his car near Shirley hills woods. That place has a reputation I understand. Some on here may know about it. Lol

Was it an all female short list? The selection process would be interesting to have some insight into.

I am against any party dumping a candidate , the decision should rest solely with the local constituency party folks who do the work.

Local connections are important, so few MP's have any proper connections until they are elected.

The Greens had 57% of the vote in 2019, a man in a dress is probably Labour's best chance to win that seat.

I would guess most of the the Khant's voter support are not very interested in football.

I would be interested to here from Eddie or Suzy why he thinks he would make a good MP.

What are his qualifications?

This is a general point about politicians and also applies to Laurence Fox when he stood for London Mayor, same question?

To clarify my point. Clement Attlee spent the best part of 10 years working in the East End of London (Limehouse) doing social work. He was well known and liked by the locals which is why the Labour party asked him to become their candidate to try and dislodge the sitting Liberal MP which he did.

previous Mayors

- Boris, stands for Conservative Family Values. Is it 9 kids by 3 baby-mummies ? Hip-Hop Boris.

- Ken Livingstone....a proud South London boy - communist , West Norwood....he couldnt remember the name of our Stadium.

- Sadiq....cavorts at a LGBTQ rally on a Monday, and a Conservative Mosque gathering on a Friday. And an open hostile fight with the Head of State of the US. One of our major military & economic allies. Ulez.

The 'necessary qualification' for high office ? seems to be a bit of a joke. Any Clown can get the job.

Absolutely. All kinds of conflicting emotions on this one.On the onehand LOL, in a good way. And yet, on the other, LOL in a bad way.

But surely the selection process must understand how badly this can potentially go down with at least an element of the electorate in Brighton? Ignore all the mentally illness stuff around pretending, sometimes/when it suits, to be a woman, just the Palace supporting stuff should have been sufficent to mean he never got selected.

I would never vote for an openly Brighton-supporting constituency MP up in here in South London.
